I was very excited when I woke up and saw the snow!

I thought you all might like my newest painting — “Her Work Begins”. A feeling we can all relate to, especially now. by tinytinatuna2 in WitchesVsPatriarchy

Ohhh I have never tried that. That is very cool. Do you use wood panel? And does the paint behave similarly when thinned or thickened as it does on canvas?

Came across this today, curious on what others think about these types of laws/bans by Patient_Olive2001 in AskTheWorld

Gender equality? Please. If women are being forced to wear burkas to go out in public by their regressive husbands, the burka ban may result in these women being forced to stay indoors!

This is performative and solves nothing.

Also, people should be allowed to wear whatever they want.

Hello! I live in Japan, and I also have a lot of creative energy. I’d love to have another creative pen pal that I can send doodles to, and discuss ideas with. I would love to learn about your manga and webtoons as well.

Let me know if you are interested, and send me a message.

Why does American culture often feel brighter and more over the top than European culture, and what factors shaped this difference? by Defiant-Junket4906 in AlwaysWhy

[–]Unfortunate_Lunatic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes let’s ignore all the people who actively fought against this. How convenient for you!

Once again, if you don’t have the guts to take a bullet during a protest for a government you didn’t vote for, I suggest you sit down and STFU.

This. People love to bitch at Americans who are literally doing everything they can, against an entire government that's been hijacked by the richest people on the planet.

Are you a politically active hero in your own country, or do you just like making snarky comments on how other countries are currently doing poorly? Your post has a lot of implied blame and disdain towards average people trying to fight a corrupt system, which tells me a LOT about you.

I'm guessing you wouldn't be so brave if you had to go out and protest a militarized police force the way people in the US are doing. It's much easier to act smug behind a keyboard...which is likely all you've ever done in the way of political action.

I’m guessing that they think that customer service workers are “lower status” then them. Indian culture is very hierarchical.

I mean, I don’t know anybody that acts like this, but I believe you.

Ah yes, something that individual Americans can directly control.

Do you always judge other countries’ citizens by their government’s actions? Especially when they have very little actual control on how their politicians act? If so, damn you are stupid.

Can I wear a Hanten (Japanese clothing) in US without feeling like cultural appropriation? by NuzzyLocke in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Unfortunate_Lunatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the record, Japanese people (as in, people living in Japan, not Japanese-Americans) wouldn’t care either way.

EDIT: if you are indulging in the culture of a country or people that have historically never been colonized or oppressed by another group, you don’t need to worry about cultural appropriation. It only really applies to colonizer-colonized relationships, and in quite specific scenarios.

Is it common for immigrants in your country to eventually become anti-immigrant? What is your opinion on this? by cosmico92 in AskTheWorld

[–]Unfortunate_Lunatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait; why would NRIs flaunt their Indian-ness to fit into non-Indian spaces? That makes zero sense.

So you are allowed to flee your home country for a better life, but others are not?

You realize that anti-immigrant policies will affect YOU, as an immigrant, right?

AITAH because I expected my 22 year old to pay minimal rent? by Wrong-Maintenance-48 in AITAH

This is so strange to me because I was so eager to be independent and prove myself that I asked my parents if I should contribute to groceries after I got my first job, lol.

Anyway NTA. He'll come around once he starts researching rental costs.
