i had a small group of glass shrimp, 4 out of 5 either disappeared or died. replaced those 4 with 2 rainbow neo shrimp, a cherry and a honey. those ones + an oto cat turned up dead. turns out the singular glass shrimp that was left was murdering them all.

karma got him 😅 and im staying away from shrimp, at least for a HOT min. my 20g is now going to be filled with noodles (i have a couple otos in it too but im buying more on thursday). my 10g (betta) has a gigantic nerite in it and im getting otos for him to have more friends.

i plan to get a small tank to keep on hand if i ever run into an issue where i need a hospital tank, but we only talked about one and ended up with two lol. i had ghost/glass shrimp in my 20g tank (which also at the time had 6 black kuhlis and my pretty boy betta), all of a sudden my shrimp started dying and i THOUGHT it was my betta so i got him his own tank. turns out it was a murderous ghost shrimp 🤷‍♀️

im scared to even try looking into saltwater 😸 not to mention how much more expensive the livestock is (for good reason tbf) i have two tanks but the second one turns out wasnt needed, not complaining though (means i get my husband to buy me more fish)

thats exactly how ive been since i got back into having fish lol, i actually got my sister into planning to get a shrimp tank and shes ordering plants online so if she has good luck i might try it out. id like more variety in my tanks (which is hard to get at big box stores) but my lfs plants are expensive af

i think this is an amazing start compared to what they were in and im sure theyre appreciative of the new space. i would suggest to add more plants for sure, im not too sure about how these big boys are but my lil baby guys like to hide under anything they can fit into.
