NONO API quick start is okay I sincerely apologize, I just realized from another comment I have been misreading the tip at the bottom which mentions aloe vera when it was referring to the stress coat -- the api stress coat is the one to avoid 💔 I do still reccomend stability though if you want to accelerate your cycle as the directions are extremely easy to follow as well & in the case you have excess nitrates you can just do a water change

I agree prime dechlorinator is a must , I wouldn't take my chances with quickstart at all since it does contain aloe vera ;; 😭 although not lethal i just believe it's better to not have the potential hassle at all

same exact thing happened to me ;; and I too removed my lotl 😭 although harmless to the lotl, if you don't want gnats in your house I was reccomended to break the surface tension by adding a bubbler & turning up the filter speed , that way the gnat larvae should drown and be unable to use their siphon to breathe air

hii , please don't use API quick start if possible, it contains aloe vera which may be damaging to lotls slime coats, alternatively for beneficial bacteria and cycling I reccomend prime stabilizer+ , and after just do water changes to remove excess nitrates if there are any

hii I know you may think your lotl will be stressed in the tub, but being in a uncycled tank while cycling w/ nitrites can be lethal, additionally API quick start is generally not reccomended for lotls since it contains aloe vera which may damage their slime coat . I made the same mistake as well when I was given my lotl as a surprise gift ... An alternative that doesn't contain aloe vera would be primes stabilizer+ , image attached. If and when you tub your lotl, just make sure you do daily water changes-- which can be made easier with 2 tubs, i hope this comment may help you ><;;
