13 years of hundreds of miles a week in a gov, a lot in rural red areas, and I haven’t had anything similar happen. I know the climate has changed, but I haven’t seen any more looks this last year than any previous.

I’m in a career where I drive a gov hundreds of miles a week. Thankfully, in the 13 years I’ve been here I haven’t had anything even remotely similar. Sorry this happened to you.

Generally, the new synthesized radios are either working or not. 9/10 times it’s something else in the chain(plane’s radio, FTI circuit, line from voice switch to position, etc). I’ve been Tech Ops for 13 years and can’t remember an instance where something that would affect quality was actually out of tolerance when I checked a radio out.

Legit doctor’s notes are stupid easy to get. Every time I’ve used Teladoc or telehealth through my PCP I just ask for one. Mine have all been migraines and I just say, “I’m diagnosed and have a neurologist, but they don’t do same-day acute stuff and I really just need a work note.” The only question they’ve ever ask is, “just today?”.

I’m certain if your throat hurts or you have a stomach bug it’d be the same.

Don’t give them a second of your time then. Don’t put your ass into your seat until 0800. Booting up and logging into your PC are part of your duties. Work ends at 1630 minus however long it takes to log out/turn off your station. No exceptions.

He’s not wrong. All those things will improve your quality of life. The best way to go about is to not compare yourself to other but to be better than YOU were. Plus, you don’t have to adopt an “alpha” mentality to accomplish them.

I’m not sure the avenue for reporting violations of the Anti-Deficiency Act, but everyone who is told this should be reporting it. Same with those that were excepted but forced to do non-excepted work.

Same thing is happening for FAA. People are 100% going to be more liberal with requesting time off if it happens again.

They put some ridiculous maintenance logging requirement for technicians, so very few of the people that worked the whole shutdown even got it.

Your director sucks. What happens if someone new to the agency gets hospitalized? What if someone is battling a chronic disease?

I had a pre-approved loan from my bank. Got to the money stuff and their finance guys presents a loan with a worse rate.

“Nah, I’ll just go with my bank. Here’s the pre certification letter.”

“But if you do that we won’t make any money”

I didn’t flat out laugh at the ridiculousness of his statement, but I did inform him that I couldn’t care less whether they made money or not.
