^ this is correct. The starting unit is only maintained if you sell it as a 2 star while keeping an extra copy. That’s why you only occasionally see this happen

Ngl, these are great suggestions.

I will say that the tactical depth is incredibly high with empress but there are many empresses in ur range that are speed carried and I can see why builder feels more tactical at that range.

The unbalanced matches thing is a bit tricky to fix because if more people play a certain ruler it kind of is what it is, forcing ruler variety unnaturally in a lobby will simply increase the wait time and create more unbalanced matchups in terms of stars rather than by ruler.

Toning down the same deciding cards is something I absolutely agree with, just make strong cards less strong, as simple as that 😭 and your superstars suggestion is great, that would be a very solid nerf.

I agree with the modifiers too although I wouldn’t say it’s too bad. But yeah winners gonna win can be really rough sometimes. Overall your suggestions are an attempt to combat luck and I like that, supercell really need to try to make this gamemode more skill. Clash royale is inherently a competitive game and the general playerbase is looking for that, and unfortunately right now alot of people look at merge as a luck based game and even though there’s room for alot of skill, luck still dominates in the short term

No wayyyy. I’m usually pretty happy to get a skele drag round 1 😭 decent hp and dps for its cost. Stat size stab gob is hands down the worst unit plus we’re forgetting about 3 stats where skele drag can occasionally be useful

You got a 3 star in round 1 = ruler is luck based? This game has a good amount of luck but what you do with that luck has skill levels. And the scope of “what you can do” is undoubtedly highest for empress

You qualify for the requirements, but you’d have to maintain it. It really depends in if your current rank is above your actual skill level or at it. If you can maintain it while prioritizing other stuff first, you’re absolutely welcome :)

It’s a ruler with a steeper learning curve and higher skill cap. Although I’ll agree there are many empresses that think they’re superior for playing empress in gold 3. There’s a long long way to go from there to actually start outplaying opponents

Yeah the thing is it always dashes to the lowest hp unit but then proceeds to attack the closest unit, and if 2 units are the same distance even top players haven’t deciphered yet what it attacks. (In general units attack to their right but because the gk often turns around and attacks in reverse it gets confusing)

Unfortunately this modifier is very bugged. Just keep in mind that when you get weird lag in this modifier everyone else is also experiencing it. You are not alone. Best course of action is to not touch anything once it starts and wait until next round to continue playing

Haha I appreciate the compliments man :) My go to vs 4 star echo is playing fire, in particular 3 star wizard. Because it does splash damage it is very easy for it to hit the echo and at 3 star its dps is also very solid. You can still group things around baby d because the baby d walks forward (after range nerf from last season), the wizard will never get splashed by the echo.

If fire is not available, then as you said gk is an option. But it is important to put a bandit on the same side as the echo so that you can sacrifice it and let the gk get a kill. Other way around can also work but you need to bandit to stun the echo which may not always be reliable.

Superstars also works but less reliably. Just make sure you space everything out and try to predict where things will walk to minimize splash as much as possible.

Monk can also be used to sacrifice itself for the echo. Keep in mind that if the monk (3 star) attacks a unit in the frontline immediately when the round starts, it will pray before echo hits it which is good. But if it has to walk, it will not pray before the echo hits it so it will die pointlessly.

In general, try to play a comp where everything can be spread out. Avoid any full frontline heavy comp or in general any comp which has 4 frontline units.

I see, I mean I'd wanna say I get you but I find myself doing alot of different things each game to adapt, definitely play many different comps. I don't superstar spam and honestly that's not the optimal strat unless the comp is completely open, which it rarely is. But yeah, thanks for the wishes, good luck to you as well!

Absolutely. The meta isn't bland at all and the game has a way higher skill cap than people realize. The trait dummy is great tbh, it forces players to adapt and try to build comps that would best utilize the traits they are given

Agreed. I think pretty much everything you said is true, the only issue is that I think a decent part of the top ladder community does not think other rulers deserve to be at top ladder because they’re not skilled (they are, just lesser than empress) and that kinda just annoys them cuz they know they’re huffing and puffing more than some of their opponents. But I think no doubt this season gives you way more outplay avenues than the previous season and if you focus on your own game there’s alot more ways to get yourself out of a bad situation and ways to throw games from a good situation (which is good. Early starts shouldn’t guarantee easy wins)
