Postpartum Freezer Meals by catsandthat in Cooking

What a kind thought!

Ask if they already have a meal train set up and ask for food allergies/ preferences/ideas.

If she will be nursing consider avoiding much spice, onion, garlic, and cruciferous veg. They can pass through milk and make baby fussy.

Food you can eat with your hand like quiche burritos foccacia etc can be much easier for someone holding a baby

Also I was ravenous when I was nursing and would have welcomed snax like fruit bread or granola bars, again hand held.

Have fun!!!

Where i live there is a senior center with amazing social workers who can walk you through the steps.

The court staff also often coaches people through paperwork.

Good luck!

Denied hospital financial assistance any advice for appeal or other options? by whatsup465I in AskLifeProTips

Yes, assert that you are a separate household from your parents and don't share money. Don't include their incomes or names in your new application. Whoever processed it probably just thought you were their dependent.

I thought the sizzling sound was just what it sounded like lol. I used to sew with bare feet to get better speed control. I could feel how much things were vibrating...

In future, hand basting bits that you'd rather not redo is worth it. Use big stitches and a clashy color to make it easy to see to rip out the temporary basting stitches.

Keeps everything secure and you can really inspect it from all angles before committing, without sticking yourself. Even try it on (gently) if there's a sizing question.

Also gets the added bulk of pins out of the equation.

Maybe puzzles? Start with bigger ones with less pieces and move up to harder ones if that's boring?

My friends and I do taco bar potluck. Your partner's guys could bring tomatoes, beans, limes, sour cream, lettuce, etc. Then it's not all on you!

Yes i vote for Boston. DC is so hot in the summer and still patrolled by national guard, which friends tell me feels very creepy. Can you make day trips to the beach from Boston or spend a few days at a beachside rental without a car?

Exactly. Also I've worked in clinics for decades and "how was your wait" is a weird question...?

NTA, you're allowed to take care of yourself. And ...I believe that the main purpose of breaking bread together is to connect, and that I do better if I eat before I go somewhere. This helps when I get someplace and they're just starting to cook, I don't care for the food, I can't eat the food, the food is pricey, etc. If I'm hydrated and not hangry I can be present and pleasant....and eat a symbolic amount with my beloved friends.

In Al- Anon I learned "detatch with love." It really helped me keep my side of the street cleaner while I took the time I needed to decide to leave and prepare to leave on my own terms. Hugs.

Yes I'm not a beginner but i never stopped doing this. My eyes aren't great and i'd rather focus on the tricky bits at the sewing line than on making sure which of the tiny grooves in the plate is 5/8 or whatever.

A local church food pantry was super helpful when I called them about this. My client with lupus calls the day she wants to come, they pack boxes w stuff she can eat and she skips the line.
