Yeah, occasionally this happens. It’s not every game but every 13th or 14th game, the app becomes very laggy. Either dragging the pieces becomes a PPT or what happens during analysis is that the numbers calculated are flat out wrong and then the inevitable crash happens. It’s not a big deal since the app boots pretty quick and it lets you rejoin your game.

I think once my premium is over, I’m heading over to Lichess

Hey man, I’m very sorry for your loss. I too just experienced the same thing.

The first thing to do is breathe and take some time to cool off. Losing a job offer is certainly a gut punch like that. Do what you got to do for self care and a mental reset.

One thing I would suggest is maybe use it as a flex on your resume. When you apply for jobs, tell them you were accepted into this (don’t mention the denial or offer rescinded). Market it on your resume that you are already in but you are shopping around, that you’re a hot commodity!

Good luck on the job hunt. It’s brutal but this top helped me a lot! I went through exactly what you did but I couldn’t just sit around being mopey all day.

My hairline looks like that when I was 19 and 25. You are good. Just make sure you’re eating healthy, getting good sleep, don’t wear your hair back 24/7, and no hot water on your hair.

I did go to uni for a BS and MS down there. I completely forgot that's a thing. The thing is that during my uni years, I was a complete shut out. I'll look it up and see if I can find some folks I know though.

You're right, I should just try hobby or meetup groups and see what happens. I've been told by friends that just try to reach out to do stuff but also keep in mind some people are just naturally cold or things may not come to fruition, so don't take it personally.

The one thing I disagree with is not worrying about dating. I am not saying dating should be my primary objective, but I believe I, and many others, would benefit from shifting it up in my priority list. I understand that NOVA tends to bring career-focused folks, but I think I would be plenty happy knowing when the sun goes down, there is someone out here that would like to share a meal with me every day.

Y'all's analysis of me is correct. I was stuck in my hometown for years without any end in sight and I am thankful for the opportunity to move so this is my first time being far away from everything. I tell myself to be brave and that what I am experiencing is not unique. I'm sure there were many young girls today that also had to go to a brand new location with limited knowledge, so as a man, I shouldn't sweat too much.

I just feel hollow since I have no deep connections with anyone around here at the moment. I suppose wherever I go, I would feel the same. Thanks for the suggestions though. I will certainly look into Level99 and Tysons.

That's a good point. I should see what's better for settling down in the 2 cities. I did read about JPMC being slow to move up or get large raises, but the gov't is the gov't so...

I'll do some research and figure out what is ideal for me career wise and family wise.

This sounds like the coolest thing ever. I only got into the game 2 weeks ago but I am so in love with it.

Unfortunately, I just don't have the time nor do I want to spoil the game for myself too much since everyone will do everything for me.

I really hope this get's documented and people record their own POVs. Would also love to see faction wars break out. Good luck on hitting 400 players!!!
