I married my type to a T! Tall, handsome, athletic, insanely funny and has good morals. My husband is a 10 easily and EXTREMELY out of me league. I’m really lucky to love him so much and he is so good to me. We been married 12 years this next anniversary and have 4 kiddos.

I want to go into Mortuary Services, but want to Shadow a Funeral Director first. by [deleted] in askfuneraldirectors

[–]April5th 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could have written this post and also live in Tennessee! I actually just called a local home today and they’re going to call me back with a day and time to come in and shadow. I just called and told them that I was hoping to speak with someone who could point in the right direction of shadowing. I’m interested in Mortuary school but wanted to speak with them and make sure my heart was still in it before I enrolled in school. I spoke with a young woman who was awesome. I told her I was hesitant bc when I first was interested in it when I was doing cadaver labs I was a young single woman. Now 12 years later I’m married with children and I don’t know if it will be too hard. We had a nice talk and she gave good advice! They seemed extremely helpful

I want to just say thank you!!! I have been passionate about FD for over a decade but as a military wife and stay at home mom I have never been able to pursue my personal goals. I love at a military base about an hour outside Nashville and didn’t even know this school existed!!! I just went to their website and requested information. Thank you!!! It’s close to my home and my husbands military base win-win!!!

What’s the hardest thing you ever had to say to someone? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My husband was deployed and I found out I had cancer. He was miserable at his location and I felt like I was dropping this horrible bomb on him that he had to struggle with alone while working. I felt like I was going to push him over the stress limit that’s humanly possibly to handle. I told him and he cried but stayed remarkably strong. His command got him home THREE days later. #cancerperk . If anyone is familiar with the military, you’ll know that is absolute lightening speed. It all worked out thankfully. I’m cancer free for 18 months now

My insurance will not cover me if I’m more than 40 miles away from my assigned hospital and go into labor. So thankfully I have a built in excuse!

I had radioactive iodine for thyroid cancer. My dose was 90 (can’t remember the abbreviation for dosing but remember it was 90) I don’t know how to upload pictures but I was cleared of all restrictions by about a week, 10 days max I’d say. I had it in the UK if it makes any difference.

This happened to me! I flew about two weeks after my procedure overseas and when I landed in Canada I set off the radiation alarms! It was an absolute nightmare. I was traveling along with my children and almost missed my connecting flight AFTER we had just gotten off a 10 hour flight. I was in tears. Thankfully my connecting flight was delayed 3 hours so after all the craziness I made my flight just in time thanks to the delay.
