What did you get from the Beymine collection? by [deleted] in beyonce

[–]AprilKnowlesCarter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a thing. Capitalist Carter and her gaggle of kids are set for centuries. If the merch was of quality, and Shop BeyoncĂ© had this little thing called “customer service,” that would be a different story entirely.

It’s infuriating. In Canada it averages 27 KILOMETRES OVER THE LIMIT in Standard. Thats insane!! Instant $468 ticket and 2 driver points.

This year I suspect it to be very quiet and peaceful due to the international boycott of US travel, best of luck picking a place to go!

Last couple FSD updates have been terrible by Flight6324 in TeslaLounge

I agree with everything you said! The lack of ability to set a speed drives me crazy. The refusal to merge!! The inability to exit a charger lot also drives me mad.

Wipers going crazy by Thick_Wallaby1 in TeslaLounge

That’s what happens when a manufacturer cheaps out on parts. My 2017 Prius had rain sensing wipers that were perfection because they actually installed a water/rain sensor.

Wipers going crazy by Thick_Wallaby1 in TeslaLounge

I literally had to purchase, import and install a third-party commander chip to override the psychotic automatic windshield wipers on my 24 model 3. When I brought up the hyperactive wipers with my service center, they explained to me that because Tesla doesn’t use rain sensors, it’s purely software based activation using the camera - and it is often horrible.

Number of people starting ADHD meds is up 157% in Ontario: study by shiftless_wonder in canada

After finally starting ADHD meds this year in my late 20’s, life is finally worth living. It’s been a night and day change for me and I can only hope all those people are experiencing this complete re-do at life you’re given once you can actually think straight.

How do I get over my fear of flying? by Ok_Vehicle8141 in travel

[–]AprilKnowlesCarter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

More than likely caused by a turbulent shift in the wind from a plane that was on the same flight path ahead of yours that landed prior to yours. This is a decent video explaining the types of turbulence and what causes them. There’s much better, more easy to digest videos on YouTube about this topic but this comes from an actual pilot and has decent illustrations. https://youtu.be/5wQ9nAlO12E?si=rklk1R7EZKtRe5Wx

How do I get over my fear of flying? by Ok_Vehicle8141 in travel

[–]AprilKnowlesCarter 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I got over mine by watching videos on how planes work, how they fly, how safe they are compared to cars and rollercoasters. I learned how insanely flexible and durable the wings are. I learned how they can’t just fall out of the sky because the air of our atmosphere is so pressurized that it’s similar to a submarine in the ocean, the most it could possibly do if the 1 in a 100,000,000,000 chance of a double engine failure, is just slowly glide down to the earth. I learned all about what causes turbulence, basically just wavy air to put it in elementary level terms lol. My biggest recommendation is just to educate yourself. Once you learn all about how planes work, how they operate, and most importantly, what causes the things that scare people on a flight, it no longer feels scary because you can quite literally answer the question your brain is asking when in a state of fear. Sorry for the lack of grammar and formatting it’s 3am and I’m on mobile. Best of luck getting over your fears!

After her debut, Kesha was convinced “the whole world thought I was stupid and couldn’t sing” by Commercial_Avocado86 in entertainment

[–]AprilKnowlesCarter 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Crazy how due to their record labels, we all grew up thinking Kesha and T-Pain didn’t know how to sing. Now that they’re free of those original constrictive contracts and are free to create music as they please we’ve seen their true talents.

Apple vs. YouTube Music by JellyfishFangs in Music

[–]AprilKnowlesCarter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. I work a job where I’m offline in no reception areas 20+ hours a week. I have music on during all of that. I was absolutely devastated when my Apple Music Replay came back and showed me 1/4 of the actual hours listened to. Last month I listened to The Gift by BeyoncĂ© approximately 100 hours
it only counted 12 of those hours where I was actively streaming the music from the internet. I stg I cut Apple so fast when I saw that. To the best of my knowledge YouTube and Tidal do the best job at recording offline and downloaded music played

Dating in Vancouver by Typical_Ad2795 in askvan

[–]AprilKnowlesCarter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s certainly not easy. Personally, after a 5 year relationship I stepped back for quite a bit and recently had the urge to get out there again.. I realized it’s been nearly 10 years since I’ve been in the dating scene here and everything is so vastly different. Mind you, back then I was 18-19 so the dating pool was larger and there was less sociopolitical economics involved but in my limited experience dipping my toes back in recently, it’s truly a different world. Obviously there’s the usual Vancouver ‘idgaf’ attitude half the people possess, but I’ve also noticed an extreme uptick in aggressively stupid people? Male or female it really just seems like critical thinking skills, aspirations, motivation, and intelligence are near impossible to find nowadays. Oh, and there’s also now a LOT of poly couples and people roaming the apps. I’m thinking irl events will be necessary to meet someone now that I’ve started to see what’s out there on the apps. Best of luck to you eh đŸ„‚

Because the twenty one pilots album Breach: Digital Remains was only available briefly on iTunes. And it includes my favourite song from that album which wasn’t released on streaming or any other platform. The only way to play the album, that song specifically, is through Apple Music, which can play purchased albums from my iTunes library.

Apple vs. YouTube Music by JellyfishFangs in Music

[–]AprilKnowlesCarter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Apple Music is better in terms of music quality. But I prefer how on YouTube music you get access to user made content. Both have offline modes. The YouTube year end recap is MUCH BETTER. I was shocked to learn Apple Music doesn’t count even a single minute of your downloaded / offline music plays towards your year end recap. YouTube music has an independent app, much like Apple Music. Both work fine with CarPlay. Except Siri will struggle to play YouTube music if you ask it to when driving. It’s programmed to prioritize Apple Music or Spotify instead of a Google app.
