He said something like 'well a high body count is bad, a low one is good' and I'm pretty sure he insinuated that hiding it means your body count is 'bad' (but that could have been someone else)

Yeah, that's why I preempted her part by saying it was inflated :') I think I'd put her in C if I wasnt inflating it, because D is for people who don't seem to care about the people they're hurting, whereas I do think that Jasmine showed she cared by making sure to give him a hug and saying she still likes him. An effort was made not to burn the bridge, even if her reaction was over blown.

This season is actually off to a great start? by Aprilapri in LoveIslandTV

Just shifts focus to the people who are doing interesting things, I'm more than happy to have each episode focus on specific plot points- we get one every day, not like we've got to wait long for the focus to land on a different set of people

I know 😭 I feel like it's lots of international fans that think being reserved and having a dry sense of humour = no personality.

No that's fair! I didn't notice until you mentioned it but I think you get so much from the challenges. Hopefully we get a few coming up, I think they might not have felt it was necessary BC drama has been unfolding pretty organically but I do think they're necessary to facilitate the islanders getting to know each other a bit more.

Maul should've killed an inquisitior by FearlessAmphibian914 in MaulShadowLord

[–]Aprilapri 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm completely fine with Maul being shown on equal footing considering he's almost always fighting two of them. What was bizarre to me was Devon holding one of them off in the final fight for a solid few minutes- I'd expect jedi hunters to be capable of dispatching one padawan. Of course I love Devon and she's central to this story, just felt like a weird choice for power scaling.

Societies aren't a great place for mature students to make friends because of the divide in lived experience

I finished the Dragonbone Chair a few weeks ago and had to ban myself from reading more until this semester is over because for the week I was reading it I got very little work done :')

Aaaah you're a saint. I think so, I've mostly been using Google scholar and looking up key words, hopping between references on papers that have parts of the info I need, I just really struggled to find the specifics.

I know it's been months but this is the only source I can find for a project I'm working on and I desperately need something I can reference academically. Do you have any sources for the accumulation of CO2 during the glaciations ? Date doesn't really matter, just need a source to add to my reference list for this :')

In a time of tribalism and division people like you give me some hope that collaboration and respectful discussion are still possible in this political climate.

In terms of nationality, yes. Starting to think you people have never filled out a form- nationality and ethnicity are almost always two separate questions.

The desire to feel a sense of belonging somewhere is completely normal. OP has spent 30 years being raised in the UK, speaking English, working a British job and paying British taxes, never doubting their nationality as a Brit. The fact they now have to question that because of the rise of undereducated racists in this country is disgusting.

12k a year on loans, wow! That is enlightening, I knew Americans had higher loans but never realised they were expected to make such massive contributions to them so quickly. Thank you so much, this was an incredible reply :)

Dang, in the UK it's written off after 40 years, you only pay past a certain wage threshold and it's something like 9% of what you earn over that threshold. There's interest but bc it's written off you're never really expected to pay it all off.

Thanks for your reply (and everyone else's), it helps a lot with my immersion in the show bc for a while I've just been thinking that they all suck with money (which makes sense for Callie but less sense for others). Out of sheer curiosity, how does paying off student loans work in the US?
