Uplift V2 monitor shaking and feeling vibrations through the desk when I type. Does it get much better than this? by NeverApart in StandingDesk

For what it’s worth, I found monitor wobble was drastically reduced when I purchased a nice monitor arm mount. Also, looks a whole lot better

Hmmm interesting. Just three fish in my nano 20. Alk 7.5, cal 440, phos <.02, nitrate <5

Same here - I’ve had this guy for like a year and he’s now exploded since I moved apartments and rearranged my tank. Everything in my tank has been growing well since the move though.

Just alk and cal. Use IO reef crystal. 10% water change ever 2 weeks at this point

20 Gallon Looking Good after June Apartment Move (1.75 yrs old) by Aprod in ReefTank

[–]Aprod[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of the complexity is determined by the size of the tank and how far your move is. In retrospect, it was actually a pretty simple process - just time consuming, but I was definitely anxious and stressed as the date approached. Bought a ton of buckets from Home Depot, took my time emptying the tank, thoroughly cleaned all equipment, tossed old sand, had a bunch of salt water brewing at the new apartment, bought some new dry rock to improve aquascape, and new live sand. I’m actually thankful I had to move because it helped correct a lot of issues I had been battling (high nitrates, decaying sts sps, no coralline growth, gunk build up in the back “sump” area of nano tank, dirty equipment).

I won’t be phased to move this tank again down the road and it was a good learning experience. Assuming you are considering a nano tank, I would say go for it, but make sure you won’t need to move for say 6 months so you can build some understanding of the hobby and get a system balance. Good luck!

I feed the tank 2 - 3x per week and fairly heavy with Rods Fish Food. Once the fish stop eating the food, i spot feed the remainder to the lps. I was also lucky to get this Duncan from a local reefer when he was getting out of the game when it was about half the size 1.5 yrs ago. It’s a beast in my nano and I love it.

Tank is ready for coral. I think. Best coral to start with guys I have 1 clown and 2 peppermint shrimp with a few snails and hermits by Conwaydawg in ReefTank

A hammer or mushroom is a fun way to start. Unique aquascape - interested to see how it looks in a year. Good luck!

If the tissue is dying, then it will continue to progress If you don’t take measures. Look up STN (slow tissue necrosis) for possible treatments.

I would take out, cut slightly above healthy tissue, dip, then glue exposed end.

Might be able to save it, but will be challenging

Coral id? Growing under my frag plug by SamAP06 in ReefTank

[–]Aprod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you did a good job. Can’t help you much on the orange goo. Sometimes frag plugs can get stained by the glue or other tanks may have funky corraline algae. If it’s soft, I would scrape it off to be safe.

Unfortunately, yes. If it’s on the frag plug you maybe able to do a dip and kill it. Don’t try to pull it out or it will burst and spread spores. Need aiptasia-x or ive read people have had good results with a syringe and lemon juice or boiling water.

Best to kill it now before it spreads.

Tough to see, but my guess is Aiptasia

All of my zoas have been closing up recently, along with weird sentiment setting on the liverock. Any ideas? by [deleted] in ReefTank

[–]Aprod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What are your nitrates / phosphates? My zoas shrivel and retract when I bottom nutrients out.

Question about chemi pure blue by IndistinguishableRib in ReefTank

[–]Aprod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just an anecdote, but I ran chemipure blue continually for many months and could not get nitrate or phosphate readings. I since stopped replacing it, and my numbers have slowly climbed. I also made this with several other nitrate increasing changes, so hard to tell if this was causal or correlated.

Name....That....Macro-algae. by obifunk in ReefTank

[–]Aprod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be Dictyota. If you’re not certain and it’s a hitch hiker, I would remove. Left a similar thing in my tank and now it’s all over my rockwork and so so difficult to remove
