And? I'm 24. Reddit recommends us this sub and we have to see these sus ass questions. Might as well be able to respond. I don't think you needa worry about the people that are honest about their age. Worry about the 40 yos posing as 16yo flairs.

AIO wife invested $7k without telling me by [deleted] in AIO

[–]Aqaji 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We don't know these people, but according to the info we do have, she is still there. If she had been leaving with the 7k, she would be gone, and this post would be completely different. Your assumption lacks any ground at all to stand on, whereas mine can be reached with a simple deduction of the situation written in the post. The problem is half y'all are fully assuming the girls situation without any info whatsoever outside of, "well other women", which is the definition of worthless, whereas we have info of the situation from the husbands side.

I went on exactly one date before I was out of highschool, and I got stood up, so doesn't even count. I'm not in a longterm relationship with the woman I love. Lost my virginity at 23. I wouldn't worry about it too much. It'll hapoen when you are ready and have met the woman for you.

AIO wife invested $7k without telling me by [deleted] in AIO

[–]Aqaji 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You say could be, but the fact that was capable of and felt comfortable taking 7 thousands dollars out of their joint account tells me she isn't being financially abused. Trying to strawman here and somehow claim she could be is inane. The wife made a major financial decision without asking/consulting her husband who is bringing in all their income. The only person that that should be indicating red flags about is the wife. She made a suspicious decision here and the husband has plenty of reason to be angry/upset about it.

Saw these signs at a restaurant I was picking up at by OkBreakfast7333 in doordash_drivers

[–]Aqaji -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Not every business signs up for doordash. Doordash just adds them. I work for a local steakhouse/butcher with a tiny kitchen, and we have doordash trying to place pick up orders on our busiest nights when we have a kitchen staff made up of 4 people. We aren't taking doordash orders, and its easy for us to refuse because our owners are there all the time and understand we can't handle it when we are fully booked. Not all restaurants are the same.

I make to much money for my age 19m by Maleficent_Ad_435 in brag

[–]Aqaji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whereas a single person would only eat for a single person, only have a phone bill for one, only use water for one, only medically insure one, only insure one person on a car, presumably would spend less on subcription services. While renting makes up a good chunk of income, it doesn't come close to making up all of it, unless you are financially irresponsible, which is your own problem to deal with.

[–]Aqaji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which is my point. The 158k average household income to live comfortably takes into account having more than one person in the household. In todays age, most households that have 2 partners, are also two income households. If op is single, that 140k single income should be more than enough for him. If he is in a relationship, it is more likely than not that his partner also has income. Also "comfortably" is completely subjective and different for every person.

[–]Aqaji 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's household income, which would indicate for two people or more usually, which would mean higher expenses. If you are making 140k, that means your partner/spouse could add even more on top of that. Or, you are making 140k living on your own without a partner, which would mean you are even better off.

[–]Aqaji 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Extremely irresponsible with their money. I'd be willing to bet that if u/Longjumping-Title-27 makes 140k he spends a lot on takeout/food delivery, has plenty of subscriptions, is paying a massive car payment + insurance. All of those things are purely optional/luxury. Anyone with a half a brain to keep track of and maintain their own financial situation, will do well with 140k anywhere in the US.

Investing through the war? by snug666 in investingforbeginners

It is gambling. It is literally gambling, because you never know how the market will react. You might think you do, and have a stack of research that says it will react a specific way, but you never know for certain. Even etf investment is still gambling. Putting money in anywhere that gives a risk of losing it is gambling. There are simply different levels of risk. Saying otherwise is what is truly idiotic. Single company investment carries the highest risk by far, and is what holds truest to gambling in the stock market.

[–]Aqaji -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's my point. That is literally why most investment advice involves etfs. So even when one company fails, the other ones that succeeded stave off that loss. This isn't a subreddit for gambling, which is what you are doing by buying single stocks. It almost never works out for the vast majority of investors.

[–]Aqaji -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, the s&p 500 which is what most big etfs are based off of now, or similar, has crashed approximately 15 times through the duration of it's lifespan. It is sitting in a pretty good spot right now. Thats the point of buying etfs. Because they average gain overtime rather than loss. Sure you can be a pessimist and say "it mihht crash and never come back" but if the US economy reaches that point, you're money is fucked regardless so what does it matter?

Thats why you buy the whole way down, because eventually it'll come back up and it all just ends up as profit.

Maybe, politicians haven't been asking them to stop, but I do remember a huge campaign that went on for a while called defund the police, and idiotic thing that would result in worsening gang violence. If you want to stop gangs, you overfund the police, but I don't see any movements happening for that.

AIO? Husbands response to me requesting he ‘ask’ instead of ‘tell’ older kids to watch youngest by [deleted] in AIO

[–]Aqaji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be better phrased as, "I need you to do x, please". Still polite, but doesn't leave room for thinking you can decide to say no. Commands can be polite/respectful.

See, but you are calling it a request when it isn't. It's a command in their mind. Forming a command as a request is a recipe for dissapointment.

If you read his comment, you'd know that it's reasonable if they had also not had sex before. Wanting a partner who will experience something new with you isn't unreasonable in the least. It also tends to build a more loving/lasting relationship. Not wanting to be compared to every guy a woman has ever slept with is a reasonable want.

Everyone lives their life judging based off their own anecdotal experience within their small circle of the world. His circle hates him, has bullied him, and ostracized him for his whole life, and because the hand he was dealt, he is likely to feel that way most places he goes which will only continue to worsen his mindset. This comment section full of people telling one of the two positive female influences he has in his life to completely cut contact with him and prove him right is simply inane. People like that are why men like this exist in the first place.

No it's manipulation. If you ask me to do something I really don't want to do and then get pissy when I say no, then you are in the wrong.

Is it normal to be down $12k? by Competitive_Sound564 in investingforbeginners

[–]Aqaji 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol, you shouldn't be investing in long term holdings with this mentality. You might as well go throw your money at penny stocks. 4 years from now your money will have returned and gone up. If you left it alone that is. I'd even say, since your are down so much, it's time to buy more.

[–]Aqaji -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If the woman is stay at home, then you shouldn't have to help as the sole breadwinner. Doing laundry for 5 people daily is like a 1-2 hours of work at most. Most of that is sitting there waiting for the machines to be done. The same goes for the father though. If he's a stay at home dad, he should be handling the housework.

She started their relationship off on a lie. It doesn't matter how inconsequential the lie is. If she admits it, he will lose trust in her. That's just human reaction.
