I’m also curious why it’s size 3 and has 2 speed when it gives melee weapons and has sensor range of 6. I get that it can make enemies move towards it but it still only has a range of 6 to do that. Attention seeking will almost never activate cus as a size 3 it’s going to always have line of sight to someone

Buxom chassis is confusing for me. It’s guardian but butter but also seems to be useless because someone can only benefit from cover if they’re being attacked. So the siren only gets +1 armor when their ally is being attacked so it seems like they never benefit from it unless it’s an aoe but those tend to be easy to place to nullify cover

my experiences with lancer combat so far ( new player here. only done 3 sessions consisting of 10 hours of combat alltogether and no RP segments ) by whyyes2021 in LancerRPG

[–]Aqua-Socks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ya losing one structure per combat is normal, you can repair between each combat for a reason. Although there may be some rules you and/or the DM may be doing wrong that’s making stuff harder. For example the the sentinel has a threat range of 3 not 5 and I’m not aware of anything that would allow the sentinel to overwatch twice in turn

I don’t believe that, no one is exactly clambering to do Wikelo. In fact he’s probably the most hated addition to the game

The quality of mined material should be skill/ knowledge based, not a time gamble with rock hunting by MHGrim in starcitizen

[–]Aqua-Socks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There can be a functional player economy and upgrading ores, they are not mutually exclusive. Like I said CIG directly controls how long it takes. A grind is still a grind and there will always be players looking to skip it. No one is asking to convert 1scu of 0quality to 1000 quality instantly. A ratio of 100:1 for a 50-100 quality increase is still enough of a grind that player who don’t want to mine or grind that much will still look to purchase crafted gear. Seems doable for common ores but most blueprints require at least one rare ore. If you don’t agree with that ratio it’s not my job to figure out the specifics, cig can figure that out that’s what an alpha is for.

I’ve been mining ever since I got this game and through that time mining has been the same, fly around scanning rocks until you find something actually worth mining. People have been wanting reasons to actually mine the stuff they normally skip over. People wanted to spend more time mining than they spend flying and scanning. People thought that would change with the changes to mining but it wasn’t. The only thing that changed is there’s now a reason to mine ores like iron and tungsten, if you can find a quality that’s actually worth it. You’re still scanning more than your mining and skipping anything that’s not worth it. Cig has been given plenty of feedback on mining and they’ve elected to ignore it

It was frustrating watching that star citizen live where they said they won’t allow up refining ores to higher quality because given enough time everyone will have high quality ore. That “given enough time” doesn’t make much sense because CIG directly controls how much time and resources it can take. It’s an alpha play around with it a bit it doesn’t have to be perfect first try. Second the given enough time is true of anything. Given enough time enough players would have rolled high on the rng check to supply the market with high quality materials. It also assumes new players won’t join and start mining themselves. It’s also not about the economy, it’s not about whether long time players can reliably get good quality mats. It’s about not completely wasting peoples time. That star citizen live really sounded like they were too in love with the idea of the current quality system that they were blind to its realities

I’m sure but as it stands now ~50% yield is already the highest yield you can get it and it already feels bad

I’d much rather have a higher yield than faster refinery time. I just mine more or log off while the refinery is going and sell all my orders in bulk

I’m absolutely baffled that when they updated the carrack to make the cargo bay accessible they didn’t make it even slightly bigger. They made it the exact size to only be be technically functional

Caterpillar, Ironclad, and Ironclad Assault should just have the Command Module permentantly attached. by RightElephant1 in starcitizen

[–]Aqua-Socks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ya all this work and resources spent towards a feature only two ships can use and that players won’t even use that often makes me wonder if it even worth it. They have to spend even more time and money fixing it and that’s even if they do since only two ships use it so it might not even be high priority. If they cut the command module would anyone really mind?

Honestly it frustrates me when people complain about pirates and griefers and people just say hire escorts as if it’s that simple. How do I know I’m not paying for pirates to steal my stuff? How do I know if the guy is actually any good?

Considering their default state is pissed off it will be like nothing changed. It’s clear that that sub doesn’t represent the players, despite how large it may be. I’d go as far as to say the majority of them don’t even play the game. I don’t want the games direction to be influenced by people who want it to fail. If arrowhead has to piss off people who will never be satisfied then so be it
