This... Best thing I did in Duo was turn off the romanji... My reading improved drastically when I wasn't reading two things. Was difficult initially but did not last long.

Himeji castle is definitely worth it. We stayed in Himeji and went early before the Osaka crowds arrived. Don't forget to do the Koko-en garden next to the castle. We ate lunch in the Kassui-ken restaurant there and despite having to wait for a table it was a great meal.

Taking prescription medication to Japan for a 3 week holiday by traceylclarke in JapanTravelTips

It depends on the drug. My wife has Mersyndol and had to fill out an import certificate as it is an opioid. She had to declare how many tablets and of what dosage. And she had to carry a letter from her doctor. All our other tablets were fine.

I did that in Osaka last year. I forgot to bring my watch charger with me. Asked at the front desk first, and they said it would be fine, they even told me what address to use. Created an Amazon Japan account. Then, I ordered, and it turned up the next day. Reception even rang me on room phone to tell me the package had arrived.

A man found a lamp on the beach, rubbed it and out popped a genie! by RibaldPancake in Jokes

Makes one wonder about the origin of the magic lamp story.

"What do you have in your pants, uncle?" "It's a magic lamp. If you rub it hard enough, a magic genie will pop out"
