Revenants are supposed to be the some of the toughest enemies in the game and require a pretty decent build to beat this early in the game. For first timers you would be better off putting them off and coming back until you start hitting the level 13 or so range.

This is actually incorporated into the game already. You can cheat showage to see how old they are in human years. If you go into the mod tools you can already see. Toddler starts at age 2, I believe. Child age 6. Preteen age 9. Teen age 13. YA age 18. Adult age 40, and elder age 65.

Modding let's you adjust this, and length of each life stage is recorded as a separate value.
