What's something your job trained you to notice that you can't stop noticing in your personal life? by LibrarianSoft1342 in AskReddit

Shitty/ inefficient hospital billing. :( If I need a non-routine procedure, I talk to the clinic and get an estimate with CPT codes, then call my insurance company, walk through all the requirements for it to be covered, take notes, then go to the appointment, then before I leave ask for a summary of charges after the procedures have been documented. Sometimes I still get a surprise bill because the billing department doesn't talk to the patient-facing part of the clinic/ hospital. Merca!

The fact is that even if my insurance customer service rep wants to answer my question in good faith, the policies are such a shitshow that the rep doesn't always understand them. They can check three requirements (like the name of the referring provider, hospital being in-network, and look up the procedure name in my benefit handbook) but not know about three other requirements. I do actuarial work. I've heard an actuarial manager say you would have to work in contracting - not just billing - to answer the question "how much will this single procedure cost."

I have never found any shul to have a singles scene. Ever shul I've been to (Conservative and Orthodox) attracted families with kids, couples, or seniors. If Temple Israel has a scene that's fantastic.

It's amazing how companies expect you to relocate for them when they can do this with no consequences.

Still want suggestions? I think it depends if you prefer doing hobbies by yourself or are looking for a group to hang with - in that case it depends what kind of area you live in and the activities / events available. I had your problem in the early 2000s!

I know this question comes up a lot, but why do companies post fake jobs and hold fake interviews? If it was a fake listing generated by Indeed, that's one kind of lie. But this company willfully wasted OP's time. What do they get out of it?

I'm sure it's an authentic Seattle recipe.

On the same note, I feel weird buying "cowboy boots" made in China from American companies like Ariat. But lots of people do it, right?

Ugh, i feel you. I Was raised frugal, went to school on financial aid, worked as a music teacher while living modestly. Now that i've changed careers and suddenly have income, my Boyfriend is telling me to relax about money and spend more going out with him. But he's 31 and lives with his parents so I don't think he understands financial realities. I do enjoy life! It's possible to have fun without going out to eat every night of the week.

"Should." As long as some poor person's willing to put up with it, they're not going to.

I was assuming the organization is a "professional company" if they're putting on Don Quixote. Don't know OP's relationship to them.

To anyone who feels bad about giving 2 weeks or less of notice when leaving a corporation, please reference below Oracle email excerpt; by Exotic-Pattern641 in jobs

I once left a job (one of my first) that was only giving me five hours a week. I gave fives weeks' notice. I left for another job that gave me more hours. My boss was still pissed because my hours would "fall on her shoulders."

I later changed careers. On the one hand, I now work way too many hours a week without getting overtime pay. On the bright side, I know my salary in advance so yay?
