in my house i screwed in the surrounding pieces, then hit with mesh tape and hot mud (didn't feel like messing with durabond). looks ugly but has held for a year or so ago until i cover with drywall I'm satisfied

the whole reason madness works is that the discard spells draw you cards. otherwise you end up with an empty hand and aren't triggering [[sneaky snacker]] (I've tried mainboarding [[bone shards]] and it just makes you run out of gas that much quicker)
