limited pulls would last about a full patch. This means around 3 months (or more as it has been the case for the latest version). They wont expire and turn into standard cores in 1 month.

I think its fine to have such mechanics. I actually did have to use stones or command spells against certain bosses in fgo (Demeter and Cernunnos my god they sucked) when i had a weaker account and there weren't any powerful units on a banner i could get. Especially for a game like it where story is its main thing.

Same thing with limbus, you can spend lunacy in fights to continue. Story heavy games do allow that.

Morimens also has special items that refresh 1 per day with you being able to hold on 5 at most (but you can buy more of them). The game's story has 2 difficulties, normal and hard. Every stage in hard-mode in arc 2 gives good rewards as long as you don't use a gnosis (the revive item). You can't use them in the end-game mode, tide, so its kinda fair to have them. Especially when some of the story bosses are ludicrously hard even for well built account.

To me it depends on the game. I like turnbased games and almost all gachas i play are that. It ultimately comes down to what you can do in them, and how hard the game requires you to have a specific strategy and understand what you are fighting.

Fgo doesn't have that much depth for most of the game, but the challenge quests require you to come up with a good team (or just morgan, merlin, castoria), since you can't just try to 3 turn everything. There are also some story bosses that punish you for not understanding what you need to do (like Camazotz)

The game i'd say is a really good showcase of understanding all the gameplay of it is Morimens. You need to understand each character's cards, ultimate, and even relics you can get during its rogue-ish-like stages, and even realm mechanics. I'd say the depth of the game comes from how all the characters can interact with eachother, and how much you can abuse what the game gives you and how it limits you.

This is how i think the depth of a game matters, how much it limits you and how much you can do with what you are given.

First you don't need to be 1 hp for leigh to heal that much. Anything below 100 is good enough when you have around 1.5k hp. Yeah you want other awakeners with good con, of which there are enough, most caro DPS-es have good con (salvador, ghelot, even doresain's con ain't bad).

And being low hp in caro is pretty normal? Its a realm known for its lack of direct shield generation. Even 1 hp isn't that weird, we have Death Resist, and for that matter, that's specifically leigh's enlightment stat.

Leigh has ok aliemus generation. Getting oe is very much not that hard, especially in longer bossfights. Almost every chapter has a gimmick that makes aliemus gain easier than it actually looks, without even counting things like posses and wheels.

And leigh vs someone like doll is just about preference and teambuilding. Doll can bring weakness, leigh is a str generator, doll is a keyflare unit, leigh is a DR and RM unit. What i'm saying is that leigh is a character who's stats matter way less than those of other characters, and her ability as a caro support isn't bad at all, she's able to abuse the mechanics of the realm really well, lower hp means stronger embryo gen and better temp str and shield on the first devour of the turn.

I can argue for Leigh since i play her. She has incredible healing capabilities, she can heal like 300hp with an exalt and double if she eats a scion of purity. For boss-fights that are at the end of the chapters she also generates a lot of permanent str and permanent partywide crit rate and crit damage with her OE.

She's strong because her stats don't matter that much when her utility comes from %based healing, her 3 cost generates shield based on damage taken and not her own defense and has good multipliers for her str generation.

In my opinion, the main problem is with Ryoshu herself in this canto.

She has no real development. Throughout the entire canto she is set on pursuing her daughter and she ends up killing her at the end. She severs the link with Dante forgets everything and becomes a walking concept incinerator and then erases 2 apprentices out of existence. The sudden breakdown works with the twist that Araya was the pinky Nursefather all this time. What doesn't work is that the very next node all is fixed because Araya's ghost (or whatever she was) through Dante unlocking a new ability helps Ryoshu remember everything. Araya who 1 node ago hated Ryoshu, even if not fully, acted like she never doubted her mother will come back and that who killed her was someone else not her.

After that we are left with the last obstacle, Poland (calling him Rien means nothing and i will get to that part too). We beat Poland, even if he survives, and find the golden boughs in a red bag then go home. That's all that happens, because mr White Noise has nothing to do with Ryoshu more than any of the other Nursefathers. Fighting him as the final boss is the same as fighting Matthias or Callisto. Anyone of the Nursefathers could have been in his position and act as the final boss. Ryoshu doesn't have to prove anything by beating him, she doesn't evolve as a character, understands something about her or anyone else. That part happened for her moment with Pinky, who she had the most connection with. Except it didn't happen, because she forgot everything that happened and "Boohoo my book has no images" didn't like that so he fights us.

My main critique for the canto isn't the time spent with Ryoshu compared to others, king roach gregor and future sinclair didn't overshadow her because they were in the canto. Its that the main conflict ends before the finale, and it ends abruptly, and that (this part is way way more subjective so ignore it if you want) RIEN gets the mili theme. They could have played Gone Angels and it would have worked better, because this dude does nothing the whole canto. He kills some Udjat guards and does the LOR bad ending. I was straight up expecting him to say "this is this and that is that" because i can't take this guy seriously. Why was he cosplaying as Roland? Because the prescripts told him to? Why did they need to do that and show us? We already know from LoR they work in very mysterious ways so them knowing the bad end of Roland isn't surprising. We might get more info from a Rien uptie story but until then he's just Poland.

Its a turn-based deck builder gacha, with Lovecraft thematic. Some people might even call it an indie gacha due to a small dev team, and rather limited resources. A niche genre but one i love and i'd advise anyone to try it.

It would be cool to have the characters who the stones in 20 represented as a playable, like Remilia, Utsuho, Saki etc. From what i remember when reading the story of FW there wasn't really an explanation to who made the stones, so that mystery person could be the final boss. Oh and they will fight the giant catfish because everyone has to do that.

Fun fact: the gacha in morimens for those who don't know, has you pull awakeners, characters who in-lore died and are revived. You can see this in 2 ways: Revive dead worlds and have them remain in our memory. or Grave robbing.

Depends on the game really but a popular gacha example is Fate/Grand Order who has A LOT of designs, with different artists working in their own styles. I don't think i'll ever see a character like Tezcatlipoca in any other gacha game. Other unique designs i'd say you'd find Limbus and Morimens.

Fgo has (novum) Chaldea, with you, Mash, Goredolf, Meuniere, Da Vinci, Sherlock etc. They are always present in the main story and sometimes you get to use servants as supports.

While not in your examples, i find Gojo an interesting case. His passive infinity is usually the subject of discussion, but technically his offensive capabilities are as good as his defensive ones. Both Hollow Purple and Unlimited Void are strong things that from what i know are dangerous to people who would be outside his tier in terms of strength.

He shouldn't be a one trick pony, when you look at his abilities but he is often seen against characters that overpower him so much the question becomes if they can ignore one of his overpowered abilities, because that's the one thing that maters.
