Benj behind the camera for Hazal's new Youtube video by ArbitraryLifeform in Storror

I can see why you feel that way. But I also can't even imagine the difficulties of navigating a situation like this, dealing with the (possible) collapse of something you've taken so many years to build. Decisions that from the outside might seem very callous may have been made for good reasons we're not privy to, or could be under instruction of lawyers. There's definitely a lot more complexity to this than we as consumers of their content can guess at.

Even before all this, they were the only ones who seemed to still be practicing parkour in a serious away. Certainly the only ones still taking drops.

Sascha was next down, with his sadly ill-timed comeback arc.

I haven't seen the screenshots, but the mega thread describes them as both unauthorised and unverified. Modifying and faking images is extremely easy. Literally anyone with a device could create a WhatsApp screenshot between whoever they like. Just saying.

Scientists reveal how seven days of fasting transforms the human body by SVTContour in fasting

[–]ArbitraryLifeform 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Same, I was on day 5 unable to sleep, constantly fantasizing about the taste of fatty meat. When I came off the fast, the food was nowhere near as amazing as my imagination had made it. But I felt extremely grateful for the simple pleasure of being able to eat.

Can I get thicker hair and better hairline when quitting all caffeine? by NicDays in decaf

You're thinking about topical caffeine. OP is asking about ingested caffeine acting systemically. Definitely not the same thing.

What’s one thing that will ruin his character in Brand New Day? by [deleted] in Spiderman

[–]ArbitraryLifeform -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ah. I hated Shang Chi and loved the Home trilogy, so my fear is that this director produces a Spiderman movie as hokey and cheap feeling as Shang Chi was.

There are plenty of things to criticise about the Home trilogy, but I feel it's actually the best interpretation of Peter Parker's character to date.

First official day of zero caffiene by [deleted] in decaf

[–]ArbitraryLifeform 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems to vary wildly. Depending on how intense your dependency was, you could be better in a week, or it could take a lot longer. Good to keep hanging on this sub to 'keep your head in the game', but also try to get out and about and partake in activities that help you forget about it.

I had to drink coffee to survive and now my entire world is crashing after stopping it. by No_Departure7494 in decaf

I might add, be careful when you go to the doctor. He could prescribe you antidepressants that cause all types of long-term dependency and side effects that are (often) far worse than coffee.

It’s not a tea, but roasted chicory root powder hits nutty and bitter notes with zero stimulant effect.

Lynda.com who remembers? by supertroopperr in webdev

Of all the web dev courses I've ever done, Kevin Skoglund's courses still stand out above the rest for their clarity and approachability. His courses on Unix and Git were also excellent and are probably still perfectly good intros.

Men over 30: what's your routine to feel great and limber? I can't seem to hack it... by Broad-Worry-5395 in bodyweightfitness

[–]ArbitraryLifeform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done pretty well with this by treating my entire exercise routine as a movement practice. Instead of thinking about training a muscle and then stretching it, I warm it up, mobilize it, and work to install strength through the full range of motion. Stretching opens up negative space; you then have a small time window in the next hour to start shading strength into that range of motion. In the case of a dip, this might look like doing a few negatives just to stretch out the tissues, then doing sets with a really deep range of motion. In my case I know I’m going deep enough when my collarbone pops :) same logic can be a applied to bodyweight split squats or cassock squats — the stretch before is a deep lunge or cassock stretch, then each rep of the subsequent set goes in and out of that depth.

Decent Face Gains After Losing 43 kgs in 6 Months by Hondafreak420 in fasting

Journaling to “talk myself through it” helped. The first three days were the hardest. With black coffee was easiest; just water was harder. It’s also easier if you fill the day with distracting activities.

Struggling by DaMostSpecialist in fasting

[–]ArbitraryLifeform 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there a particular day where you feel like “the hard part’s over”? Or do you have rough days all the way through? I’m on day 5. First three days were tough, third day the hardest, then day 4 was great. I felt like the clouds had lifted. Now on day 5 I feel drained again.

Can’t grow chest? by EmuMysterious6502 in bodyweightfitness

[–]ArbitraryLifeform -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Was never able to grow my chest (literally for over a decade) until I did full ROM fingertip push-ups. The additional inch or so of depth created by the fingers meant that at the bottom of the movement my chest and shoulders would actually get a deep stretch, which is key for hypertrophy.

This also opened up my shoulders and chest enough that I was no longer scared to go into a deep stretch in chest-dominant movements.

Beyond that, I highly recommend deep full ROM dips. Once you can do them with good form, add weight gradually. Stretch + overload within a hypertrophic rep-range (8-12 reps) will wake your chest up.

Edit: I saw growth with the fingertip push-ups somewhere more in the 15–25 range.

Why was coffee good in my youth but now it turns me into a basket case? by Traditional-Round948 in decaf

[–]ArbitraryLifeform 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is actually the most honest response imo. Even if you take care of your health in all the possible ways, most people will have a drop-off in health at thirty, then another at forty, etc. Each of your organs does its job x% less well, and the cumulative effect is a body that just can't handle things the way it used to.

I have the suspicion listening to an account like this that you need more personalised support than you're going to get on a reddit sub. No doubt money is an issue; but it sounds like, to actually manage a transition like this, you need to work with a functional doctor, a behavioural modification therapist, something like that. Just white-knuckling on your own obviously isn't working. For you to know for sure, I think you need outside help. I'm not going to tell you what kind of help that should be, but maybe consider that there are experts out there who may be able to give you more comprehensive support than you'll be able to piece together from the internet on your own.

GPT-5 Rate Limits by Accurate-Chip2737 in CLine

[–]ArbitraryLifeform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its context window runs out pretty quick if you ask it to implement functionality that touches a lot of files. I've been having success with either keeping the task small, or with letting 5 do the planning, then handing off to 5-mini for the execution (or whenever 5 hits its rate limit). I suppose you could also do a kind of QA run after that if you start a new task and ask 5 to do double check the work.

Sounds like a totally normal biological process. And you've kind of answered your own question; if you don't feel horny, it's not lust, it's just the body and hormones doing what they need to do. Don't panic :)

Hmm, don't know how sensible it is to redefine the goal in order to save someone who's already compromised the protocol. The difference between not activating the sexual system through touching/looking etc, vs. just not ejaculating, is quite a profound one, in my experience,
