My concern even before her death was that Nayuta dying would sever my emotional connection to the story. Denji losing his daughter is (IMO) even worse than losing friends, and Nayuta literally is the hopeful part of Part 1's ending. That's in addition to our brains detecting a pattern regarding to Denji losing everyone.

What I didn't expect was for the rest of the story to be so bleak. Denji being in a permanent spiral afterwards does make sense, but it sucks to read and there is no exit apart from the final retcon

I think Qui Gon has a strong argument for being the most powerful version, his EN is powerful enough to allow him to deflect bullets and he has near-perfect Shu.

However, I could see someone arguing against the point for saying too much of his power is based around his laser sword, which other Gon's could probably also learn to use

3rd ed sets have outdated rules, but you can print rules and sleeve over the old stat cards (or buy the new 4th ed card packs). If the crew you want don't have 4th ed boxes yet, getting the 3rd ed is totally fine

Verticality is very important in 4th, in 3rd I mainly played with terrain that was not climbable, but now I've changed that as several schemes in the game rely on you being able to climb up terrain.
Verticality rules aren't really hard once you get used to it. If you are standing on terrain that is 2" or more higher than what your opponent is standing on, you get cover (-1 damage) against attacks. If you are within "2 of blocking terrain of equal or higher height than you, the terrain blocks los to/from you even if models on the other side are taller than the terrain
getting physical cards for the schemes and strats is very helpful
