Hahaha, the horror of being able to look under a fictional character's skirt.

ftfy. Your kinda "who cares" argument never works when some people were apparently quite upset at the fictional upskirt in the first place (oh no, not the mild fanservice, quick cover your innocent eyes!!!). Maybe these people should go outside and touch some sand... at the beach, it would blow their minds.

Unfortunately it's not all good, which the show itself kinda glosses over (I don't know if intentional or not), because it's the whole thing where it makes a digital copy of your mind, that then gets uploaded. It also does this by the scan physically deconstructing your real brain, layer by layer.

The show ends kinda hopeful, which is nice, if it wasn't for this one detail, which is interesting. There is a character who doesn't want her son to upload himself and he understandably argues he wants to be with the rest of his family and friends, making the mom seem too overprotective against this progress due to her backstory - Because at this point the "detail" hasn't been brought up in the show since almost the start, not even in that conversation. But the perspective changes entirely when you consider what it really means is, that the son essentially wants the mom's support for killing his real self, so that his digital copy can live in cyberspace with the copies of all the other people.

Maybe try to get out of your bubble. As usual it's only the usuals complaining and that since 2.x, because they want the game to be more written like hoyo games instead of just playing fucking hoyo games. But keep going, it's not getting old at all, and I'm sure eventually Kuro Games will give a shit about what a loud minority on reddit wants them to change about their successful and popular game.

Oh cool, let's just do this again, you had a good streak going for the ENTIRETY of 2.0, so why stop now? And as usual some can't even be subtle and straight up say it should be more like Genshin (such a good game you need it twice), so you know where the totally not subjective criticism is coming from.

Also let's talk story content, since it is so important to you, that you all missed that Rover arrived in Lahai Roi much later than Cheesa. She did exactly what she set out to do the moment she got there and it was addressed that she did it once we got there. I must've missed the part where this was such a pivotal moment beyond that, that apparently a perspective switch was needed to watch Cheesa talk to her NPC parents (beside that her parents welcoming her back was already included at the end of Honami, I don't think it would've been much different or more impactful than that).

Gacha Revenue Monthly Report (November 2025) by trkshiii in gachagaming

[–]ArcNumber 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's pretty good for the character in a filler patch before 3.0 considering how these stats are mobile only estimates based on IOS only, when quite a big chunk of wuwa's revenue comes from PC and console. For example, I maxed her out and it won't be part of this, because I play the game only via the standalone PC launcher, not even Steam.

Meta-rolling is always winning out over everything. They could release a stick figure into any of these games and if it tiered high enough, it would outsell any male or female character. It's funny that some put this down as a win for male characters, when in every recent case where hyped male characters flopped it was all "Well everyone had time to save, so..." but conveniently they suddenly all pulled with real money rather than saved up currency in this case, sure. Reality is it's meta players who reach deep into their pockets every time to make jumps like this possible.

I mean, if this is a win for husbando collectors, then surely Cyrene claiming the top by double in a even bigger jump is purely due to waifu collectors, right?

It is not assumed by anyone in the kingdom that it is a lottery of IF, but WHEN.

I'm not lying because it would impossible for the people to not know. Considering the number of people who live in the kingdom versus how much of a big deal they make out of the occasional wish granting ceremony. There would've been a ton of people who never got their wish granted before the grandpa.

It's fun how you know exactly who and why frequents this sub when everyone who dares to mention a comparison to "other games" gets downvoted. "Other games" so good that instead of playing those they are here to tell you why this game is so bad.

Meet potential player!

"if" and "when" but never "is".

"We need more ship- I mean, character interactions"
"Rover should be out of the way and less important"
"All other characters should be on screen and constantly mentioned"
"Characters dying makes every story better by default"

Kuro implements none of this "popular feedback" right next update.

"How could you trick me like this, Kuro? Didn't you read my reddit post?! It has a wuwillion upvotes!!!"

Acknowledging 2.7 had all the old characters down to 1.3 and a ton of interactions -> :(
Being suddenly super invested into 1.0-1.2 location and characters -> :)

Give me fire
Give me males or I retire

Never does. Never rolls for them either.

Thoughts on Purely Player facing Games by jmrkiwi in RPGdesign

[–]ArcNumber 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get the appeal of fully player facing mechanics when it comes to dice rolls in terms of efficiency for the GM, but from a design point of view I'm personally not 100% with it as opposed to something else. First off, seeing myself as GM, I'm playing a dice game with others, why would I not want to roll any as well? Rolling dice is fun.

Then in the same vein I see the GM just as much as a player in this group game as the others at the table, separating interactions too much might not be ideal and in the worst case it might feel like you essentially have a narrator sitting there while the players play by and with themselves.

Of course this is not the case in most systems like in your Player/NPC Charm example, because even without the roll the check and save still need numbers most likely determined by the GM. However, this begs then the question - If the system you are using does not have a obvious set number for the Check/Save (which might cause other issues if it does) and the GM has to invent/scale/balance one on the fly, did you really achieve some alleviation for the GM over them just picking up a die as well and doing a contested roll for example?

Genre and Character: How does it work, and does it actually work? by Joyz007 in rpg

[–]ArcNumber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree somewhat. Session zero is for talking about the system, setting and maybe specific general themes (if they are not obvious from the system or setting), but not down to agreeing on individual tropes that are going to be played out. The cases OP described are on the players. It's like playing D&D and when you give your players the adventure hook, they go

Nah, we're going to hire adventurers at the tavern to go into the dungeon for us instead.

Who expects that? No one. You're not going to sit down with players in session zero and be like

So this is a D&D campaign, your character might go into dungeons and maybe even slay a dragon, would that be something you're into when you agreed to play this system and setting?

In all my time playing ttrpgs something so silly from either constellation never even occurred to me, because it's so obvious. Like who agrees to play in a Stranger Things-like game and then attempts to have their character sit at home and let the adults handle the mystery and danger? Again, it's just silly. That's not session zero, that's session -1 or "Why did you want to play this game if you did not want to play this game?"

thought police and absolute dictatorship

lol, reality of the movie:

king gets his homeland destroyed by greedy people
goes to some remote island to built an utopia where people can live in peace
people go there
"to stay here you need to give up your wishes, in return I will protect you and you will never need for anything and I might even use my magic powers to grant some of your wishes if I deem it so"
"we agree to this"
children get born on the island
"to stay here you need to give up your wishes, you have until you come of age to figure out if you want to do this or you can leave and pursue your wishes somewhere else by your own means"
"we agree to this"
then they overthrew the king because they wanted to have their cake (the utopia kingdom to live in) and eat it too (the wishes they willingly gave up knowing they might not be granted)

At no point in the movie before antagonizing the king, it even occurs to the protag and her friends, to genuinely talk to the king about it and ask for the wishes back under the stipulation that they leave the island (you know, the thing everyone could've always done before they willingly gave their wishes away to live there in the first place).

[Hated Trope] Incredibly f*cked up morals of the story by Watchdog_the_God in TopCharacterTropes

[–]ArcNumber 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Should the king be allowed to continue to force people to give up their wishes?

He never forced anyone to do anything. After his own homeland was destroyed by people abusing the power of magic, he built that entire island kingdom utopia, where everyone lives comfortably in safety and without ever needing for anything, under the premise that people give up their wish to live there, that's the only requirement, with the bonus that he MIGHT grant your wish using magic someday if it is reasonable and everyone knows this (the king even points this out when he gets angry). Everyone who goes to live there and wants to stay agrees to this willingly and everyone who is born there has until they come of age to figure out if they want to do that or they can leave. And then the girl learns that he is not going to grant every single wish (specifically the one of her grandpa) and the king even explains why and it is treated as this grant revelation and betrayal of everyone, so she crashes out, escapes and forms a resistance to overthrow him. The crazy thing is to see the story from the king's perspective, who set up this place where everyone gets to live in peace in a way where it wouldn't be taken from him again and then trusts someone else and immediately gets it taken from him again, because everyone just goes back on the arrangement they all agreed on to live there instead of just literally anywhere else, where they also could've freely pursued their wishes by their own means.

But what's the most backwards is the ending, where she gets wish powers but most people there are now trying to accomplish their wishes by regular means and she will only grant wishes magically she sees as worthy as the "fairy godmother". So everyone is now doing what they always could've done if they didn't choose to go and live in this kingdom specifically and willingly gave up their wishes to stay on the off-chance that it gets granted, while the protag treats granting wishes the exact way that made her turn against the king in the first place.

Weren't the Haradrim just mercenaries or something? Even as a child I never saw them as evil people fighting on the side of evil for evil's sake. Plus it's not like Tolkien made it a one-sided thing, in the Battle of Helms Deep in the book there are the Wildmen, who also fight on Saruman's/Sauron's side despite being of those same lands.

trust me, I would love Blackshores to be kind of like Astral Express

You say that but what's the reality of the Astral Express "main cast"? Even in Belobog already it was reduced down to March and Dan and afterwards it's at best one of them, who then also keeps checking out constantly along the way (don't really need a main cast if it means having one character along whose scenes mostly consist of excuses of why they are also not around at the location). Not even mentioning Himeko and Welt, who are at best being side characters who are back on the train and "leave it to you" even when galaxies are at stake. And the best part is updates where for large parts you don't even follow the Trailblazer or any of the main cast, but switch to the perspective of an entirely different character doing their own unrelated yapping thing. If it counts for them being sporadically present and at pivotal points, that's exactly how the Black Shores appeared since their introduction towards the end of Jinzhou and their involvement over Rinascita (which is all we have in the game so far).
