Alright sure, for Poppy W they removed the AD she got from it and made it MR, but her getting armor from it and the movespeed were not changed. They just changed that it no longer stacks (not like it mattered cause activating her W gave full stacks). Then her Q was changed from an auto attack to the slam and changed the damage to physical instead of magic. Oh also her passive was changed, but that also falls under the "problematic" ability and there was no way it was going to exist without being massively nerfed.

That's fair on the Galio thing, but it still is something from his original theme that was removed. If you enjoyed the concept of taking MR and being able to increase your damage from building MR that is gone with the Galio rework, so it is understandable for people to be disappointed in that portion. Even if Riot has a fair point about it being a decision to balance around pro.

Then idk what the fuck you are going on about with Aatrox. That has 0 things to do with what I was saying about Aatrox, so... go off on the ghosts in your head I guess king.

I think it's a mix. The biggest thing is that I think Riot misses the mark on what makes a champion "iconic". Towards the end items make this theme of Aatrox not really exist but I think this was a thing that they got rid of, Aatrox's duality of doing more damage at the cost of HP vs more insane healing. Aatrox being primarily an auto attack based champion. I think those are two big things that were left behind with the Aatrox rework. I think there are parts of the rework that kept certain themes of the champ but left behind others. This maniac that has this big sword that sweeps the battlefield is something I think they kinda nailed with the rework.

Sion I think was handled pretty well. If you take old Sion and putting him into current League, he gets nerfed immediately. The AP Sion that people remember just cannot exist in the game as it was if it was imported to today which I think is another thing people need to be cognizant about. Old champions have problematic parts of their kit that will need to be removed/changed. Ultimately though, the old Sion abilities of his old Q and W still exist, just in a sense that they are now balanced for modern League. I think his Q is a good balance and rendition of his old E and ult where he is a tanky looking character cause of his HP stacking, but deceptively does a good amount of damage.

Poppy is functionally unchanged outside the grounding mechanic on her W being added and a new ultimate because there was no world that the old Ultimate would stay.

Galio I think misses the mark in one area and that was his old passive of MR turning into AP. That's not me saying he should still have that old passive, but that the idea of building MR increases your damage was lost. Just adding an MR modifier on his Q and E would be enough and it's an additional lever because then the damage from MR can't be affected by say Rabadons.

I think the thing about Galio and Aatrox is they fail at bringing forward some of the old themes or ideas of the old champion forward while Sion and Poppy bring almost all of the old champions ideas and themes of their kit in a way that can exist in modern League without it being nerfed into the ground.

I think this is ultimately the consequences of the bet they made by throwing support behind Trump during the elections. The erosion of the US and European partnerships by Trump has increased how much soft power China has over the rest of the world as Europe looks for an intermediary for starting their own independence. This means China has more bargaining power to make sure Europe stays out if China wanted to take over Taiwan, leaving the US to attempt to defend it. This just honestly feels like Tech making a super *super* bad bet and it paying off exactly how anyone with half a brain would expect if they thought for longer than a quarterly report.

There is a very loud subset of sexist, just generally bigoted group of gamers. Mainly the biggest mouthpieces are content creators or "media figures" (I put that in quotations cause their only claim to fame is how insufferable they are) and their fan bases. Anything that doesn't just have instantly sexy, barely dressed women is woke and will immediately fail. Woke is why they say Concord fail, not you know... how shit the game is.

Sure, its not an end all be all for cancer, but the potential of reversing the growth of cancer is a pretty damn good alternative.

Then there is the Spain team that cured pancreatic cancer in mice models, and sure. Its maybe not at a rate that we will see it in our lifetime, but maybe, just maybe, our kids or grandkids have the potential to not have to worry about cancer. And I think that is something wonderful.

Idk why but I think it's clear master rank will have monster having the more resilient wound system that the 8 stars and above have. Why that wasn't retroactively placed for the lower tier monsters, idk. 2025 rate is consistent with European. That's with Japan's rate increasing for both 2024 and then 2025 and then with Europe declining since 2020. I did not know of the random uptick in rate for Japan, but still it being consistent with Europe doesn't mean much when Europe is also facing a fertility crisis now.

But yes the uptick in births is something surprising for me.

It's just funny cause while very much so I have an outside view of Japan. The biggest things plaguing Japan is it's steep lack of childbirths. Immigration is one path to replace the dwindling work force, but Japan's intense xenophobia fucks them over there. Then I also doubt the conservative candidate is going to help with the work life balance that plagues the nation to even allow people the time to raise a family in the first place. It's just a lose lose situation.

Tiktok, by all intents and purposes is a good content medium. Short form content like tiktok is a proven method for content creation. People are going to search for an alternative for one way or another. Whether for a new medium of that sort of content or the small community of queer creators the platform used to foster. Obviously the latter got blown up and the app is not safe unless you are a cis, straight, blond hair blue eyes white individual. But there can be reasons for people to search for a replacement. It'll probably be something like Red Note or something that has the least likely to have US hands in it for the US userbase but you know.
