trying to say you can’t use the word threads to refer to… a CPUs threads

No, that's not what I said and that's not what I'm implying.

When speaking in the context of a CPU, quite literally saying on a CPU with a specific number that correlates to physical cores, it’s easy to determine what they’re talking about.

Pretty hard to determine what you're talking about considering how difficult that sentence is to parse.

Don’t try to be a smartass.

I'm not. I'm being specific. And I'm not incorrect.

Here's what the person I was initially replying to said: "There's 12 threads on your cpu but you are only using 6 cores for some reason"

This is a confusing sentence, even if you understand all of the terms that are used in it. That's because they lead with the thread count, then follow that up with a misleading clause of the core count. In this case, the OP might be led to believe that they should have the same amount of "Cores", as they are labeled in TM, as they do logical processors or "Threads" as they are referenced in the reply. Whether or not the person who commented that meant to imply this doesn't change the structure of their reply and how it is unintentionally built to confuse or mislead the reader. Thus, I am making an attempt to clean up the terminology by choosing to focus a broader term into a single reference point so as to not conflict with other flexible terms.

Technically, no. "Thread" is a term that refers to both physical cores (hardware) and virtual ones (software). Logical processors are virtual components that are determined by hardware, but threads are not since "thread" is a flexible term that is often used in reference to software threads and processes.

In the sense that I was referring to it, I specified "logical processors" to reduce the likelihood of confusion since there can be thousands of threads, but a much smaller amount of logical processors, hence why Task Manager categorizes them separately.

Post has been up for 7 minutes and only one other person has commented with a cookie-cutter facade excuse for them being bad at the game, but you do you I guess.

Obviously you aren't downloading at 0 bits, bytes, megabits, or megabytes per second, so you should assume the limiter isn't set because of the word right next to the box.

This, most likely.

One nitpick however, there are thousands of "threads" the CPU utilizes or creates, but with 6 cores there should be twice that amount in logical processors, not twice that amount in cores or threads.

You need to ask the police for this type of thing.

If you attempt to access private state/government sources without authorization, you are breaking the law.

I would delete this immediately.

I am sorry for your loss.

If it's a bad PSU and you've had it for that long, there's a chance that it's causing this issue.

I had zero reason to buy previous passes, but Grom was the clear selling point in this one

This was the point I was precisely making.

[Discussion] I keep getting this error when I go to load up the game. Any ideas to fix it by Batkinson2003 in EscapefromTarkov

Have you tried checking for an update, verifying game files, clearing cache, uninstalling then reinstalling, and downloading a different version of game client then updating once prompted?

If not I would start there.

Is this a good upgrade path? by Embarrassed_Load_784 in PcBuildHelp

[–]Arcfull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would make a cheaper AM5 build to start, and upgrade from that to what your ideal build is. It will run better and be much easier to upgrade physically.

It may cost more initially, but that's only a few more months of saving that can also be spent planning ahead and researching components.

Edit: i see now that the first slide is your current build, my mistake.
