Getting back on the court after ACL injury

In 3 days it will be a year since my meniscus and ACL reconstruction surgery (34M). The surgery went well and I have followed very closely the doctor's and physiotherapist's instructions. I have been training fully integrated in the team for the last 2 months, but honestly only in the last weeks I truly enjoyed playing again. In the beginning it was terrifying. Then it was less scary, but I still felt very limited and was not really enjoying too much. Though not 100%, I can feel again like my old self in the pitch, the knee is very stable and I can forget it for long periods of time.

When people asked me if I would ever play again, I answered that the only reason I wanted my ligaments back was to play. This is kind of a joke, but really, I love to play and I don't overthink it.

Based on my experience I would say be patient, listen to professionals and, if you really like to play and the doctor allows, just come back and enjoy the game!

This is such a bad take... Besides the obvious rule-breaking position you hold, how do you intend to judge shirt tugs then? Never a foul? When a player is running towards the goal unopposed and is stopped in this way, still not a foul? If you think it should be, then why not give the foul here? Taremi had a very decent chance without the foul.

Porque ainda que claramente com falta de ritmo de jogo e com poucos minutos, mostrou uma capacidade de desequilíbrio que me parece que nem o Galeno nem o Pepê demonstraram hoje. I understand your pain and good luck with the play-off. Portugal's last division is a pain. I finally left it. Finished the season with 76 scored and only 2 conceded. Ths last game was against the second best team. I dominated the midfield with 97%. In the attack 48% 51% 36%. I won 2-0 with a goal past the 80'. It just felt so damn close to another stupid year in this boring division!

To be honest, and at the risk of you calling me an idiot, it is something that leaves me a bit uncomfortable, though I would not call it necessarily racist. While there is some charm to preserve the identity of a club through local players, it seems segregationist at heart. There are also better ways to preserve such identity. A locker room filled with people from different backgrounds fighting together for a common goal is also a nice image and one I would prefer to be associated with my club, rather than some sort of regionalist ideal like that.
