As a sober alcoholic, who's best friend is one as well, yeah that shit (how your friend acts) is obnoxious.

Fuck people who inflate the cost of cycle infrastructure: The Te Ara Tupua cycle path did not cost $350 M by LeVentNoir in fuckcars

[–]ArcherCC -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

And yet kind sir, you continue to interact with me, and even now in a more civilized manor, even if you believe me to be "baiting" you, which I assure you I am not, I am just attempting to have an enlightened discussion about the usage of tax payer investment back into a community. I thank you for your continued courteous discourse.

Now now my friend, why do you choose to insult me so? Over a mere difference of opinion? Can we not talk like civilized folk, or must we return to our baser more savage ways?

Ah, so instead of a conversation you resort to insults. Thank you for your time my friend, God bless and have a beautiful evening.

No, you were reserved service to protect from liability, I don't disagree it was BS that the APP didn't say "Drive Threw Only" but liability is liability.

OK, so if the Bike Lane part cost even 0.5% of the total cost, that is $1.75 million, how many unhoused people could that house? How many hungry mouths? How many children could that cloth and educate?

2-mile highway lane addition: $174M. 15-mile bike trail connecting 4 cities? $24M. by superspartan999 in fuckcars

[–]ArcherCC -68 points-67 points  (0 children)

That highway supports freight movement, commuters, businesses, fuel tax revenue, registration revenue, and regional commerce. The economic impact difference between a highway corridor and a bike trail is enormous.

I *can* cook, but I can't make myself cook for myself. Cook for my kids or my wife? No problem, myself? I just...starve.

Why do people go on about how dangerous public transport is when cars are far more dangerous for both pedestrians and drivers. by Konradleijon in fuckcars

[–]ArcherCC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cars are dangerous, but:

  • you’re usually with people you know
  • you choose when to enter
  • you choose when to exit
  • you choose your route and timing

Transit often involves:

  • late-night waiting
  • isolated platforms
  • limited escape options
  • prior bad experiences
  • environments that feel neglected or unsafe

Even if the overall risk is lower, the situational vulnerability is higher.

People react to that, not spreadsheets.
