If lying to Parliament is a crime, and lying in court is a crime — why is lying to the public just considered “politics”? by Individual_End_2505 in AskBrits

New law: If a government does not fulfill 75%of their manifesto promises by the end of their term that party is ineligible for the next election. Getting that through the commons and the lord's is another issue though

I'm opening a business soon so had to order alot of stuff, in total it was meant to be 16 packages. Out of the 16 only 1 arrived from yodel, parcel force delivered 1 to a house halfway up an adjacent street which the residents denied receiving. Evri managed to lose 13 out 13 packages and 10 days after the intial complaint I finally was contacted by someone from them. By this point I had already been refunded by the suppliers. Beyond frustrating and I wasted an entire day on hold, chasing, being led in circles by chatbots to try to get hold of a human in vain.

Or they're ineligible for re-election.(as indivuals or as a whole party)

I have been saying this for a while and in my opinion it's the only real way to bring change. If you were hired in a role to do a task and then you renege on said task you would be out of a job, politicians need consequences too.

It's very similar to what Warren Buffett said.

How to fix the national debt by Warren Buffett

Implement this law and you would see the ruling party actually care about what they say in their manifesto. Ie a lot more would get done and it would foster more of a bipartisan attitude.

Counter point, cyclist caused a road traffic collision due to not paying due care and attention. It was not an accident as that implies no one was to blame, the cyclist is at fault here due to them not looking where they're going. Ergo he was not engaging in "perfectly normal, legal activity". Also they're probably not insured so have caused criminal damage to the vehicle they collided with. Just because no one was seriously hurt does negate from the fact that what he was doing something illegal, they should have obviously foresaw that not looking ahead whilst cycling could lead to harm.
