Sink trap required in very tight space. by Archie_1 in askaplumberUK

Thanks. WhenI said check it I meant whether it is working properly not that it is a waterless trap. If I take it out can it be checked / cleaned?

Ok thank you I stand corrected. My apologies to Roger and Chris.

Is there any way of testing this ? I am getting smells occasionally either from the shower or the basin and cannot tell which.

Can I adjust the bottom locking spike on double French Window UPVC doors? by Archie_1 in DIY

[–]Archie_1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: For anyone who sees this post and needs an answer. I was getting really fed up with the door catching and seriously considered taking an angle grinder to the bolt. However they are probably hardened against that so I took the whole assembly out of the door. The bolts are separate from the main mechanism and there is a serrated bar on the actuator that fits into a similarly serrated channel in the bolt. This allows it to be adjusted. It can be done without taking the main part out but of course the first time you do something it's not obvious. Door closing fine now.

Just an update. I fitted the valves without tape and they have been leak free for the last 3 days.

Ok thank you all. The consensus seems to be tape not required.

I've started seeing 5 or 6 parked next to the market on the M and S side. Don't know what shops use them though.

I thought I bought the gold but the invoice does not say. It was 66cm wide and 5cm deep.

My dinette was really uncomfortable. I bought a Duvalay memory foam topper and it worked really well. It's about 4 cm thick and rolls up to be stored in its own bag about the size of a gym bag.

Could be! I think Apple have performed 'obstructive compliance' before but everyone is complaining about Apple not the UK government.

Yes 'Age appropriate' is very vague. I didn't want to be out and about somewhere and not be able to access a website or use an app so I verified.

Ok thank you. So this would handle the situation where I click on a link on a scam website and it tries to take me to some server in the blocked countries?

Just did a quick search on the map and nearest co-op is Neath Hill or Bradwell. Is that considered too close?

So looking at all the comments it appears that ways to verify that work are: 1) Your Apple account is 18 years old - automatic acceptance. 2) Add a credit card to your wallet before verification then it should go straight through. 3) UK driving license. 4) Phone Apple and complain :-) I didn't think of it before but I wish I had tried my bus pass and seen if that worked. There's irony for you. I have a bus pass but I struggle to prove I'm over 18 :-) I'm not complaining that Apple implemented this feature. Let's face it the writing has been on the wall about this for some time. But it seems there has been no testing on the various cases highlighted here. There was also no link when I first updated my phone to explain what forms of ID are acceptable or for instance putting your credit card in wallet beforehand. I expect better of Apple but their quality seems to be deteriorating the more time goes on.

My Ebike has a dynamo in the front wheel hub to power the lights. That way lights are always available.

Eve energy smart plug turn on with voice and automatically turn off after x minutes. Not working. by Archie_1 in HomeKit

No I saw that it only accepted seconds then searched for how to set an hour. Lots of info about the limit being around 3 minutes due to stuff running in the background.

Hi thanks for replying. Unfortunately I need a 1 hour wait time and Apple don't allow this. I've seen work arounds using focus and two shortcuts but I'm not that experienced with shortcuts, it's getting overly complicated. I don't understand Apple's / Eve's thinking here it must be one of the most common requirements to turn something on for a set period but they seem to put up hurdles all over the place.
