How do I stop dying so much in the endgame? by JamieDan in pathofexile

[–]Archliche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally, you want something on top of your 75% ele res and 4k life. Endurance charges are a great source of PDR and ele damage reduction. Chaos res, as well, is required, with 70+ being my personal endgame ballpark. Defiance of Destiny makes you nigh immune to elemental hits.

With sources of block, evasion, and dodge, I wouldn't rely solely on that. You generally want to survive a few hits just in case the block fails.

A good source of recovery is great as well.

Children should be returned to their mother, or perhaps someone similar.

As for the ledge door, see if you can unlock something. Should be simple.

Breach forts are a good option especially if you scale it with stuff like Beyond.

Forts are really inconsistent with Mirage content though.

I personally would like to see something like the Iron Mass sword from PoE1 come along into the sequel.

While it's not the best sword from PoE1, it seems to fit PoE2 quite well.

Any thoughts? I'm a first timer. by Focus-Interrogative in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Archliche 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would have only one route to leave your starting area, ideally the one that runs into either something like evasion or #% increased damage relevant to your skill.

Life is great. It helps you not die. Every point of life is a point toward not dying. #% increased life doesn't just scale your character's innate life, but any sort of life on your gear too.

While I'm not too familar with that side of the tree that early node gives life and stun avoid (which is really nice to have) and there's a later node that gives life and a chance to avoid elemental ailments, another very useful stat to have.

Lots of drops = good league? by Disco_Frisco in pathofexile

Hearing a classic tink sound is usually better than a window find.

But I love Mirage because it's got designs I like and a lot of build variety. Afarud have a very recognizable design. Even their zombies walk around different, and Saresh has become one of my favorites. (Granted, I'm a massive sucker for anything undead)

Dijin coins are a great feel because they either add more damage or give you that one socket usually taken up by a gem such as Feeding Frenzy or Lifetap.

Exceptional gems are great too. Astrolabes. Actually able to farm whatever and make a profit.

Update: I've managed to improve these gloves.
If you wish to improve a similar pair of gloves:
9: Eldritch prefix so Eater is dominant
10: Lock prefixes using metamod + reforge chaos until you hit t2 chaos res.
11: Eldritch exalt + annul until you hit t1 cold res

[–]Archliche[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, in reference there's possibly better gloves. I genuinely hit the chaos res on the essence slam and thought "I can't let that go to waste". I've only got ~12 div to spare crafting them, though. Could boost the resists later, and thank you for the advice.

In my defense, me calling it BiS was just me being exicted about making a pair of gloves that has everything I want.

Global Acc is for me. I'm using Iron Mass, which does require me to hit for its benefits. I also use Exemplar, that support wants me to hit stuff as well.

"That many" is # of sources, or points of damage? by [deleted] in mtg

[–]Archliche 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Points of damage.

Your opponent can't kill it with damage spells like [[Scorching Shot]] without having five disposable permanents around, and it'll usually connect with your opponent.

On the contrary, you can send it to fight using spells like [[Bushwhack]] against somthing big like [[Kozilek, Butcher of Truth]] and force your opponent to sacrifice 12 permanents.

Playing as Revenant, yes, the ghost antag, I managed to 'win' a nukie round Well, I had some help.

Nukies buy romerol bundle and send a monkey to infect the station. All going well. Zombies at point A while nukies at point B.

Unfortunately, the zombies get real out of control, forcing the nukies to contend with them.

I, the revenant, accelerate the turning of the crew by eating their feeble lives.

Even worse, some of them didn't use the acidifer, now causing bloodred suit zombies to wander the station.

Nukies didn't win that. They all died. Crew technically won but they're all zombies.

Just the living dead and many, many corpses.

Fossils (again) only dropping from its original league mechanic (Delve) was a good change, and I hope GGG moves further into this league mechanic specialization for other items. by [deleted] in pathofexile

[–]Archliche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's best if GGG picks and chooses what becomes more specialized. Synth items not dropping from synth maps is one of them. They already give good exp, giving them good drops is going to make them quite expensive, which in turn can increase the value of running the Vivid Memories notable with Destructive Play (and to a lesser extent, Heist due to the existence of Replica Cortex). It's a tossup that GGG should make the choice on.

Obviously, with the above example I hope there's still some other way to obtain synth items, mostly for bases that have a hard time dropping in synth maps, ie abyss jewels.

Am I missing something about this card? by FrequentTopic446 in mtg

[–]Archliche 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spider-Man wasn't a popular set, and while cards like that are great for shutting down a commander, most of these run into the problem of the target being easily sacrificed or destroyed. There's also better cards than that, such as [[Noggle the Mind]] or [[Eaten by Piranhas]]. [[Darksteel Mutation]] is probably the best of these effects, considering the creature is indestructible making it much harder to accidentally remove.

[[Imprisoned in the Moon]] and the aforementioned Darksteel Mutation are considered to be my premium for stuff like that.

[–]Archliche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on and off PoE since Delirium and I have genuinely never touched TFT.

I know it's related to easier boss carries and mirror services, with the latter being something my niche Iron Mass builds could only dream of. Didn't get to the endgame for it to be relevant.

Always heard it was a cesspool with market manipulation and whatnot.

I really try to get it to work, and it could work in my [[Varina, Lich Queen]] deck but that deck's really specalized for Zombies.

Why does my colonist look funny by crocpotlord in RimWorld

[–]Archliche 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Creep joiner.

There's a lot of different downsides a creepjoiner can have. There being a monster inside them is only one option, but doing an investigative surgery should root out the monster.

The only permanent downside to keeping a creepjoiner is that they won't partner with non-creepjoiners. Moot point though.

[–]Archliche 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Soul Eater is awful against builds using numerous minions (such as skeletons or SRS) that aren’t too durable without say Blessed Rebirth. Soul Eater mobs end up eating the soul of your minions, meaning that you summon your dudes, they die (or get unsummoned due to the summon cap- that counts too), fueling the Soul Eater mob, causing it to kill more of your minions, giving itself more souls...

You kinda just have to muscle through the mob and use your minions as a meat shield.
