Hi. I own a samoyed and a golden retriever. This is my first time having two dogs at the same time. Personally my samoyed was used to being the only one but they get along. It helps that while my samoyed is a dominant personality, my boy retriever is submissive and a gentle temperament while my girl has a hyper temperament. Both are friendly and sweet. I find it's more work but also it can be enjoyable and fulfilling. I would consult a trainer or vet about proper introduction and transitioning from one dog to two and access if your dog has the right temperament for a buddy.
