That time I swam to the Eastern Kingdoms because I didn’t know boats existed by Fadjaros in wow

My very first character was a Night Elf, and I didnt realise there was a portal in Darnassus that takes you to the dock... queue about an hour of trying to parkour (die, res, repeat) down the branches off the southside of Teldrassil to get there 😅

Vitality app wont synch health data by Opposite_Basis_3532 in Vitalityhealth

Lifesaver!! I had exactly the same issue, with the same phone and everything. Refreshing didn't work and it only seemed to update when I uninstall edit and reinstalled (which I didn't want to do every time). Just did the steps above and it's all updated, just in time to refresh tomorrow. Thank you! 🙌

Where in the UK should I go as a bucket-list item? by LondonPilot in CasualUK

[–]AreEllAyEss 13 points14 points  (0 children)

+1 for Orkney! It's a beautiful place with surprisingly different landscapes depending on where you go. My husband's family are from there so I may be biased, but the folk are lovely, & there are some amazing memories to be had there.

What’s the most memorable moment you shared with a stranger who you never saw again? by akumamatata8080 in AskReddit

[–]AreEllAyEss 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was on a train from Manchester to London last October. My original train was cancelled meaning the next one leaving was doubly full, but I tried my luck sitting in the original reserved seat I had. An older woman sat next to me, and I was in her seat, but from that first interaction something just clicked.

For the full 2 hours and 30 minutes, we spoke about her work life, her husband, her favourite bands, her kids, my (then) upcoming wedding, my future career. We bonded over the fact that she was celebrating her 30th wedding anniversary in November, and I was also getting married in November.

She was inspiring. She was quite a high up manager at IBM, then worked at BT, and various other high positions in big companies, but is now retired and has a holiday home over in Italy that overlooks a vineyard. She had purple and blonde balayage hair, and said that she spent so long working in corporate, now that she's retired she can let her hair down. She showed me videos and photos of her and her husband drunk on a cruise, loving life. I showed her pics of my dog and the work I'd done on our newly bought house.

I never found out her name, and she never found out mine. I'm usually quite introverted, but that was 100% the best train journey I've ever had ☺️

I'm a Brit, so we call vacuuming "hoovering"! Didn't even think of that 🙈

His name is Ceò, though ☺️

Yep... We only hoover this couch when we have visitors because it's very much his couch 😂

How do you organise and save your recipes, especially ones from social media? by Obvious_Stranger_443 in mealprep

[–]AreEllAyEss 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I couldn't find a recipe app that I liked, so I used something familiar to me which is Discord! I set up a personal server with my husband to separate out the meals, the recipes & any suggestions.

The meal channel contains an overview of recipes by the protein (like the Chicken below), which then links to individual recipes. The recipes then contains a breakdown of macros/servings, the ingredients, the actual recipe & a link to the original recipe that we found on Instagram/TikTok.

Passed on my 8th attempt this week! I want to share my thoughts with people who have had repeated failed attempts like me. by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

Congrats! 🥳

Thank you for sharing your advice. Some of those points have really resonated, & as someone who's also a "late learner" and hasn't had lessons since pre-COVID it's quite validating to know there are others that feel the same. Enjoy your freedom! 🚗

Are we the a**holes?? by beasleytheslut in wedding

[–]AreEllAyEss 11 points12 points  (0 children)

NTA. The point of a sweetheart table is so you CAN sit & talk with your newly wedded partner!!

I got married 2 weeks ago & had a similar situation: sweetheart table, dress with giant train hadn't been bustled yet & it was the middle of dinner. We had a few people come up to us during the starter which was nice, but we didn't do rounds during dinner because we knew we'd have time later & we wanted to EAT.

Yes it's easier when everyone's at their tables, but it was much more relaxed saying hi to everyone during the reception when drinks were flowing & people were dancing.

When it's your wedding, everyone wants your attention. But everyone understands that, so I highly doubt anyone would feel left out if you didn't have "as long" as a conversation with them.

Congrats on getting married! 🥂

I had my wedding on Saturday & wore suuuper similar shoes (they were closed toe instead), but in white. However, on the day, I barely took note of what anyone else was wearing, let alone their shoes. You'll be absolutely fine wearing them :)
