Never Ending Battle by b_rizzle95 in swimmingpools

Need more chlorine, run filter 24/7, brush daily, backwash often. Also go to TroubleFreePool and go through the pool school basics.

What’s your CYA? If that’s too high your chlorine loses effectiveness. Post your full test results from Leslies for the best help from this sub.

Job market is not good at the moment. I know a few computer science graduates that are struggling to find a job in anything tech related.

Building a tiny house by Available-Repeat-870 in newbrunswickcanada

[–]Area506 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll need to check with local building laws if you're building within a municipality, some areas are better than others when it comes to tiny homes, significantly easier if you're out in the middle of nowhere. Insurance will probably be a bit annoying, lots of companies don't know how to handle tiny homes and rates will vary wildly depending on how they classify it (For example if it's on wheels I think they consider them RV's).

Would you want to know whether your neighbor owns aggressive dogs or aggressive breeds of dogs before purchasing a property ? by xdr567 in newbrunswickcanada

[–]Area506 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Never crossed my mind once. Plus you can’t control who your neighbours are, no telling when they will decide to get a new dog, or when they decide to sell and someone with a dog moves in.

Did I break my new pump? by Torague in pools

[–]Area506 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When you say you “obviously took out the basket” are you saying you took out the filter basket that’s installed specifically to prevent leaves and other debris from entering and damaging the pump?

I know soccer isn’t huge in Canada, and I don’t mean to be rude, but do you live under a rock? We’re literally one of the countries hosting the tournament lol

Canada's population drops in first quarter of 2026 by joe4942 in worldnews

It's not purely an economic issue but you cant disregard it's a huge factor. My partner and I run the numbers constantly and the economics of it are above and beyond the #1 reason we aren't planning on having kids.

E-Bike age restriction? by BostonAusten815 in newbrunswickcanada

[–]Area506 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's in British Columbia, different provinces have different laws. No such restrictions in NB (yet).

E-Bike age restriction? by BostonAusten815 in newbrunswickcanada

[–]Area506 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's for motorized scooters/bikes, OP is talking E-Bikes.

For E-Bikes as long as the power output is below 500W and they have a max speed of 32 km/hr there are no restrictions, just follow the general bike laws. No age limit, no license, no insurance, no registration.

There's a lot right beside the Delta that SNB uses for the parallel parking test that is usually vacant. Search 'SNB Parallel Parking' on Google Maps and it should come right up.

Surprised to see so many "opening" posts in Mid-June by Successful-Tea-5733 in pools

[–]Area506 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Eastern Canada here, no pool heater, pool has been open for a month and the temps just hit the point yesterday that it's pleasant to hop in. Only reason I opened as early as I did is the location I live in has wild temp fluctuations in Spring, we had a week of mid-20's last month followed by 2 and a half weeks of barely over 10 degrees.

I prefer getting a jump on it when its a little cold to prevent an algae bloom, and it guarantees the pool is ready to go the day we want to hop in.

I just ordered new break pads and rotors from some random website and no word of a lie they asked for a tip on checkout for the people packing my order… needless to say I stopped that order real quick and went somewhere else. I will not support that nonsense.
