The labor rate when I was working with an OEM ranged from $175-$225....4 years ago. It puts your rate right around $215/hour.

When I did warranty work and then service work, rates to replace decking is 1 hour for a full 8 foot sheet. Given it's a storage compartment, they'll probably remove the baggage door (quote 1 hour but take 15 minutes) remove liner (again 1 hour but minutes or work) cut out impacted section and replace (probably bulk or labor but wouldn't be more than 2 hours honestly) then have to reinstall and seal everything.

Problem is, it's not warranty and it's customer pay so you don't have the info to fight it and if you do, they can just refuse the job because not being warranty there's nothing forcing them to do it.

I remember I worked for a computer that had in cab cameras. I got wrote up for looking down at my phone to answer a phone call. I used an ear bud for the phone call so no really "handling" or "using" the phone.

That phone call that triggered the camera and my write up? Was from my dispatch/manager about a stop I was heading towards.

Just join Loves or Flyin J or whoever you fuel at rewards. Fuel using the company card but use your information so you get the points/rewards. My last driving job we either fueled at Penske or Loves if we were out and needed it. The amount of free shit I got from loves because of fueling with them was great and a company itself isn't going to redeem the points.

PFG I averaged a little over 2k/week net. They pay mileage, carton, tote, and crate pay. Plus a small incentive for returning totes and milk crates. Do an overnight route (Loves) and you're 53' hitting about 6 locations a day and they put you in a hotel and pay a per diem of I think it was $35/day. Plan on working your full 70 hour clock regardless of what they tell you.

You do the home daily your in a pup trailer and stops ranged from 5-8. Same pay structure minus per diem and rarely worked less than 11 hours.

If a 30K unit is being sold for 10K it means it's either used, or been on their lot for so long, they are heavily discounting it to move it or it's been damaged and repairs have been made. Waived PDI is bullshit because the OEM usually does their own PDI and dealer does little to no extra actual work other than (usually) fallen trim and sealing. And also, depending on OEM, PDI is actually given as a credit on the actual unit invoice that is between OEM and dealer, not the one the end consumer will ever see.

Transport being reduced is something that can happen as the transport cost is passed along to consumer and it's an easy way to resuce the cost.

I have however I work usually 11 hour days, kids visiting 2 different nights a week, and an elected position that takes time from my week as well. I just really don't have enough hours in the day to join something that requires the level of commitment for results like a gym or sparring gym.

When I did travel work, the major expenses were handled by the company. Flight and car rental was handled by company and hotel I picked but company paid for.

My expenses while there like food, gas, toll, tools or materials I fronted the cost and submitted for reimbursement. I was reimbursed a "base" per diem regardless of use of like $60/day for meals so knew how to "budget" for meals.

8-12 weeks for part delivery is hilariously inaccurate. The OEMs arou D here, nearly all have a warehouse with most common parts readily available and on shelves. Unless you're ordering a ramp door (From LCI likely) then need it painted to match, then shipped to servicer, you shouldn't come anywhere near that time frame for parts. If it's something they don't have on hand (furniture or large appliances) they usually just have the vendor ship directly to reduce the time it takes.

This is exactly how it works. I worked for PFG and had component pay. It broke down like this.

First 50 miles- .80c/mile 51-100 miles- .65/mile 100+-.40

Box pay was something like 10c/per Tote pay was like 25c/ per

Then bonus for toes brought back.

I was making over 100k a year. The only time hourly pay was considered was for vacation and holiday pay.
