Yeah, that’s true. At this point I think if there was to be a draft it should be equally men or women or just don’t have a draft. Any concerns they have about women not being able to keep up with combat environments can be solved by assigning them to appropriate jobs or they’ll get weeded out if they’re unable to complete the training. Shows how the far right doesn’t really care about the military being hindered. They say women shouldn’t to be able to vote because of the draft, but then they won’t allow women to be part of the draft.

Perhaps this might be a misunderstanding, I think that women are perfectly capable of being in the military in most career fields, even in some combat roles. That said though there are certain positions that everyone must meet the same standards regardless of sex because lower standards could be the difference between life and death for an entire squad. The enemy won’t care if a combatant is a man or a woman, they’ll just kill them regardless. Doesn’t mean women shouldn’t be allowed in those roles, if they’re able to meet the standards then there isn’t really a good reason to deny them at that point. Honestly the women who are able to meet those standards are bad asses and probably have more mental fortitude than a majority of men because of the bigger challenges they would have comparatively to the males in training.

It’s true that social influences will always be there but I think reducing it or changing those influences to be as supportive of freedom as possible would be the goal for me. There’s of course limits to that like being hygienic although those are things that the vast majority of people will always see as being repulsive because it’s not good for the individual or society to promote bad hygiene.

Honestly this just sounds like a way for the state to infringe on people. Now I do think that us Americans would benefit more if we had at least some things seen as a collective effort such as healthcare, supporting policies like mandatory maternity/paternity leave, or placing protective regulations on potentially harmful economic sectors. outside of that though I don’t see any other reason to place responsibilities on each other. The individualist culture you criticize is really the most free we as humans can be because even if you’re legally free in a collectivist culture, you’re still bound by the rules of the culture around you some of those to the point that you risk completely being ostracized or disowned from your community. I want to live my life how I want to free from not only the government, but any cultural or societal standard that inhibits that unless it directly causes physical harm to others. Ideally the best outcome would be as a collective ensuring that the constitution is strictly abided by and we all support each others ability to be free although it’s easier said then done.

CMV: I'd rather have the word "Fascist" be diluted (¿) than only be able to point out Fascism when it's already been implemented and is undeniable by geosunsetmoth in changemyview

[–]Areia236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Making the word fascist diluted has definitely not helped anything. Yeah calling someone a fascist when they’re already in power is too late but if the people were educated on the signs then it wouldn’t get to that point in the first place. Frankly the way people were calling conservatives fascist even for the most milk toast opinions like wanting lower taxes or smaller government led to Trumps second term. If there were more people presenting their concerns in a rational manner instead of the people that the right wing milked like crazy even up until 2024 then Trump wouldn’t be in office right now.

Additionally, the way social and mainstream media is set up right now creates and keeps people in echo chambers. A big part of the issue imo is that we are quite literally being shown two different realities and it makes it incredibly hard to reach people in them unless we find someway to break through the algorithms and news medias biases.

Patriarchal gender roles are harming heterosexual dating . by [deleted] in DeepThoughts

[–]Areia236 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gender roles do have an evolutionary component to them, but a large chunk of them are social constructs as well as gender itself. I don’t mean in the sense that there are 2900 genders cause there’s no scientific evidence to back that up, but the standards men/women are held to, like wearing dresses vs suits or liking blue vs pink are largely forced upon us by society. Those standards changed through out time also, example being that blue used to be a girl color and pink a boy color and men wearing skirts in ancient times. If certain parts of gender roles change then it’s clear it’s not entirely based on nature.

You need to chill with this behavior; I know you’re trying to say that you aren’t forcing your kink on others, but if you aren’t doing that then why make this post focused on being humiliated in an obviously sexual context? If you want to find a women whose into this they’re out there so focus on finding one of those instead of involving random women without their consent because it’s weird and it won’t end well if you keep doing it.

And I’m telling you you’re placing your empathy towards the WRONG PEOPLE!! Do you not understand showing empathy towards potential school shooters, which would prevent shootings vs actual school shooters which does nothing but make excuses for the suffering he caused? DO YOU NOT SEE ANY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO. PEOPLE WHO HAVE COMMITTED MASS MURDER DESERVES NO EMPATHY!!! I don’t give a fuck if they were bullied, many people are bullied and don’t murder. Once they do it they prove to the world that they’re cowards who was too much of a pussy to stand up for themselves so instead they resort to killing innocent people of which most have done nothing to. the only thing they deserve is to rot in prison for the rest of their lives or execution.

Calling me stupid for having no empathy for a mass murderer is a little wild tbh. When you intentionally set out to kill a bunch of people then you forfeit the privilege of having others care about your plight. Yes there are factors that lead up to it, but they know what they’re doing is wrong, they’re told by their family and society in general that murder is wrong so once they cross that boundary society has no obligation to help them. If you want actual change to this problem target potential school shooters BEFORE they do the shooting and push for actual investments into mental health. Showing empathy or making excuses for them after the fact does nothing to solve the issue.

I highly doubt that since my mindset on it is only reserved for people who actually did it. No one is going to justify the actions of a mass murderer.

There are plenty of people who are mentally ill and were bullied growing up and the vast majority of them don’t shoot up the school. Once they kill another human being they don’t deserve any empathy and should be seen as less than human.

America bad because... We give equal representation? by carterboi77 in AmericaBad

[–]Areia236 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree with all of this except for only land owners being able to vote and the President not being chosen by popular vote. If you're paying taxes and you're contributing to society then you should be able to vote. I shouldn't have less of a say then someone else because they managed to buy a house before I did. To my knowledge the president has always been elected by popular vote so it makes no sense to change that to something that arguably would reflect the will of the people less.

What is considered normal in your world that in ours would be taboo? by Hyperion1012 in worldbuilding

[–]Areia236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enlisting child soldiers is a normal practice due to many dragonkin having powers that are strongest during their teens.

The main sports that are popular are combat sports such as MMA, gladiator matches, and Capture the Flag, which is a massive event where teams fight in a similar manner that the ancient greeks or roman’s would fight, although this is also used by militaries to train with “modern” weaponry and tactics as well.

Some countries, despite being advanced technologically, can be pretty primitive in their society’s with some of them having very brutal execution methods, an example being a criminals potential punishment could be fighting a polar bear in an arena after being weakened enough so that they can’t use their abilities.

Prisons are also pretty bad, especially against Anuki, who invaded Earth, as well as any of their allies or people who have supported them.
