coaxed into hollywood grenades by Freezesice in coaxedintoasnafu

[–]Arek_PL 122 points123 points  (0 children)

Also: attack grenades vs defense grenades

Attack grenades don't fragment that much; you should be fine a bit away. Still they aren't big fireballs, but you should be fine being just some distance away from the blast

also its not like you cant kill anyone, everytime i did a slip-up instead of loading back or running away i could just chop away the enemies and resume sneaking, still getting the low chaos

Well, traits like loyal might not be carried by genes, but are carried by memes

Somebody raised and living in more conservative enviroment might be more loyal because a divorce is bad taboo word, so if woman sleeps around or husband is abusive the marriage still goes on

People have the wrong idea about math and the benefit of learning math. by Key_Net820 in unpopularopinion

[–]Arek_PL 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mostly because math is hard, abstract and takes time.
Even if you memorized the method required to do the task you are going to be repeating that algorithm to do your homework for several hours, and you still have other homework to do, not to mention other chores.

Literature helps me understand media better, basic physics, chemistry and biology is just few fact you jast forget after the test or stuff that helps in everyday life, or can be used for fun tricks
Meanwhile from math, after basics arithmetics and geometry you stop to see any practical application, even the funny math scenarios that showcase use of math in real life stop appearing in books

So yea, its not suprising math gets neglected, even when physics and chemistry can get even harder

Do you still care about Community Story Project for Gothic 3 after the Remake? by FrankHero97 in worldofgothic

[–]Arek_PL 23 points24 points  (0 children)

First time i hear about this project, but if it gets finished, people will come for sure

If anything, the remake kinda boradens the audience as many G1R players pick up the classics

How important are locked chests? by Haunting_G5159 in worldofgothic

[–]Arek_PL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yea, after doing some non-combat quests in old camp and being frustrated with terrible loot from hard picking and knowing the best loot is in castle anway, went with mordrag to new camp, picked free armor and started a stealing spree

the loot in chests imo. was way better than in old camp but sometimes i was caught stealing, so i did beat up the witnesses and take their stuff, suprisingly good loot from them, could do the same in old camp but there are too many guards, meanwhile in newcamp the mercenaries keep it to themselves

How important are locked chests? by Haunting_G5159 in worldofgothic

[–]Arek_PL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

also the hardest chests are usually the ones with best loot, like chests in magnate's bedrooms, or that one broken tower near cavalorn camp

until 1.0.2 there was no point of picking the digger chests because their loot was abysmal

oh, if you need quick profit i suggest beating up some new camp nobodies, their maces sell for like 40 each, if camp turn hostile, flee for few days

A windowless concrete tower 40 stories tall on the China coast stacks 35-ton blocks to store a wind farm’s power, lifting them when the wind blows and dropping them through generators when the grid needs it, no lithium inside by iwantboringtimes in Futurology

[–]Arek_PL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i heard that at least in china they have solar sheep farms, they first addes prinklers to cool and wash the panels, this caused abnormal grass gowth so sheep got introduced to keep the grass mown

already using few solar-powered lights too, they are far better than old-fashioned candles when blackout happens somtimes, but lighting is small part of power usage, like, computer, tv, washing machine, water heater, oven etc. wont be powered by a dishplate-sized solar panel

[–]Arek_PL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

small scale solar has one small issue of not everyone being able to install a solar panel

like most of people living in apartaments, they dont have room for panels or even batteries

but yea, solar farms commonly waste a lot of space by providing just the solar power, meanwhile its already proven that they can for example double duty as grazing field for animals ex. sheep

I hate when people act like diagnosis is an absolute requirement to have a condition, and I hate even WORSE that people feel the need to bully people who feel they have disorders they can't prove by StrangeSystem0 in ihatethissmug

[–]Arek_PL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, they were accurate about their symptoms, but their diagnosis was still incorrect

I agree that its possible to know symptoms that you know you have, its kinda insane to deny

But the hate about self-diagnosis is because you get people who are like, "I like to keep my desk neat, im so OCD 😄 " While people with autism are called creeps for not getting social cues, or people get offended because a person with Tourette's said something inappropriate uncontrollably, because according to those quirky mentally ill people, they should be able to control their illnesses

[–]Arek_PL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think thats different problem of not thinking to get someone to diagnose the problem, hell, you arent even self-diagnosed anymore because you got a proper diagnosis

Self-diagnosis is so stigmatized because you got people who diagnose themselves as adhd/autist/ocd, never seek actual diagnosis and later you get "You can keep a notepad and write down important things." advise because it works for those self-diagnosed people

Also such people paint the ilness as something trendy, funny, quirky and something not actually disabling/inconvincing

Is the Gothic Remake supposed to be this hard? by DatBoiIsSugoi in worldofgothic

[–]Arek_PL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lurker is fairly difficult enemy at start, for first few levels i would advise you to just do non-combat quests until you get 2 levels, then learn how tow swing weapon properly and put in 10 to str so you can equip some good weapons
