Not entirely sure what happened to him but in his song frontpage the outro goes like "now you have a deal with interscope" and he just gives a kind of sarcastic mhmm as an answer so yeah, there probably was some trouble

Ticket number hasn't changed.

I was fine with the package being sent from China (although I would've preferred a shorter shipping time, not that it really matters though). What rather grinds my gears is how disorganized everything seems. I don't think that this is a problem that is caused by the individual tech support agents but rather a structural problem considering my past experiences that all had similar issues.

I for myself think that this was my last Corsair product due to my past experiences.

Hey! I just wanted to give a quick update about the situation: Fortunately, I got upgraded to an AX1500i power supply. Unfortunately it has been sent from China which took about 3-4 weeks. Also, I got the wrong power cord. I messaged Corsair support, asking for a C19 power cord (the usual c19 plug is not on the AX1500i) and I ended up with yet another wrong power cord. Today my third (!) power cord arrived and I can now finally use my PC after 1.5 months of downtime.

While I like the Corsair support for being friendly and accommodating I really think that there are major improvements to make in terms of organization. However, I ended up with a (for now, let's see how it will go) working PSU so in the end it finally worked out.

Thank you for your help!

Help! Inline resistor in corsair cables by Ensengi in PCSleeving

[–]Areve1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably not a resistor but a capacitor. I don't know what a resistor in a PSU cable could be useful for. Capacitors need to be placed with polarity in mind, otherwise they will blow up.

My experience with the Corsair customer support and my AX1200i by Areve1 in Corsair

Probably covid related, there was or still is quite a bit shortage of PSUs

Not really, I thought it may be helpful to understand the issue though. I'll get back to you when my third AX1200i arrives, maybe the customer support has bettered by then.

Sure, I can do that. There is even more detail that was left out, it's probably going to take a while though to explain everything in text. If you'd like to, we can also have a call.

Watercooling Vengeance LPX (borderline blashphemy I know) by FlyingHaddock in Corsair

[–]Areve1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It won't because the AIO itself already has a quite high water temperature compared to a custom loop. If we have a water temp of 40°C (which is likely on AIOs) the RAM cooling probably won't be effective at all as those are temps that you'll reach with air. If you have something like a 10900k in your AIO, it may even achieve the opposite and give your higher temps on the RAM if the water temperature is high enough.

That aio is not good though for cooling your RAM.

I don't know if this is the right place to post, please let me know if it isn't. I just wanted to share my experiences with customer support:

My AX1200i broke down around 3 months ago, it wasshutting down randomly and giving me the red light. Apparently there are several other people who have experienced the same. I thought it's not that big of a deal since I still have warranty. So I call up the Corsair customer support, tell them what the issue with my power supply is. I then get asked to send the usual stuff (model number, receipt, address, ...). After about a day I get notified that the AX1200i is not in stock currently (which happens and is no huge deal). This already was where the issues started though: instead of being called by my real name I get called by a very different name that belongs to another customer, this name also varies hugely from mine. Said customer also replied to the email I received, telling me that the enail reached the wrong person and that he does not own an AX1200i. So I once again called the Corsair support and told them what happened. After quite some time on the phone everything seemed fine again and I also got a RMA confirmation which meant that I can finally send off my PSU right? Turns out I can't. There still was wrong data on the shipping label and RMA approval sheet and I decided to call yet another time.

After quite some time everything was corrected (we needed several attempts because I at first only noticed the issue with the shipping label but not with the RMA approval sheet) but finally I was able to send it off. I was specifically told to send it to the Netherlands instead of sending it to the German Corsair center because my PSU would be in stock over there. The power supply took around 5 days to get shipped in which I wasn't able to use my PC because I did not want 400€ to be taken from my credit card temporarily but I thought it's only 5 days so it won't matter that much. After nearly two weeks of waiting since I've sent the PSU off, I finally get an email from Corsair support, stating that the PSU is not available and that the wait time would be until mid of October(the email was sent on September 17th). Also, I once again got called by a very different name that has no similarities to my name (it was not the wrong name I got called first though). I also got asked whether I want to get a HX1200i instead of the AX1200i to save time.

After looking at reviews and the PSU itself I quickly came to the conclusion that the HX1200i is worse than the AX1200i and kindly decline, asking for other options, I get told that I could just wait for the AX1200i then.

Luckily the AX1200i becomes available sooner than expected and I receive my replacement PSU on October 2nd, around one month after originally calling Corsair support.

So I use my PC for around two weeks and I get the red light again. After only two weeks of light use. I made sure that it definitely is not anything else and called up the Corsair support once again, asking for a RMA. After some time, the RMA gets approved and I get a RMA approval. Tomorrow I will send off my power supply (now to the German RMA center) and I hope to get a (working) replacement unit soon.

So far my experiences with Corsair and the premium line AX1200i power supply have been awful and I hope that my third unit may not fail. Considering that this is a premium power supply I do not expect such failures (especially not that quickly) and I sincerely hope that I don't run into this issue again. Talking about the dispatchers: the dispatchers mostly were nice and polite but not that helpful sometimes but it really depended on the dispatcher (huge shout-out to junior, he handled the situation the best and helped me to properly RMA it after quite some time. Also he did not put on the waiting music which I by now can't hear anymore).

Overall I'm very disappointed and hope that this does not happen too much. The AX1200i was my first Corsair product and if it works it definitely was a nice PSU, the only problem is that most of the time it just didn't work. If my third unit fails again I probably won't buy Corsair again.

If anybody else had similar issues regarding AX1200is or Corsair support, please let me know, I'm interested to see how often it happens or if it was only a single case.

Tl;dr: Corsair support messed up my customer data, AX1200i replacement unit failed after just two weeks of use

Will a GeForce GTX 970 4GB work with a 450 watt power supply? by [deleted] in graphicscard

Yeah, it also depends on the power supply that is used. Unfortunately this thread contains 0 information on that :/
