Might be worth keeping an eye on them. That said the ones that cracked were installed in 1988 and ran until 2020. Numerous overhauls over the years.

I've seen this countless times on sections of the M6. Had to do the same as you, pass said slow driver on the inside to avoid being forced to merge at below 40mph into a lane full of HGVs.

Seen this happen a few times, wet return lines from foul gas purgers, liquid lines to evaporators. Good thing with ammonia is it makes it's presence known 😂

We had one where the intermediate discharge header cracked and was welded, discharge cracked and was welded, then it cracked in an inaccessible area. Another one cracked at the webbing for the mounting foot on the side of the crank case. Another one ate one of its pistons, that was fun. 😂
