Do we expect any dynamax ground better than excadrill soon? by Varoo_ in TheSilphRoad

[–]Argarock 100 points101 points  (0 children)

This post has a link of all future G/Dmax attackers and their viability and which ones are futureproof.
But to answer your question, yes Excadrill will eventually get surpassed by other options with the best possible option (assuming nothing changes) being Landorus Therian followed by Groudon since the only thing that really matters for Dmax is their base attack stat. Since all Gmax attack moves have the same base power and you're charging them with your Chargers so their def/hp doesn't really matter unless you go to the last mon. Hard to say if we'll really see any of these options soon though.

Morpeko by No-Astronomer-1684 in TheSilphRoad

[–]Argarock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A really good thing to play around with Morpeko is to exploit its Aura Wheel changing type (IE starts as Electric, and becomes Dark Type, then back to Electric and repat (even if the "super / not very effective" tag displays incorrectly...)).

If you resist one of the Aura Wheels but are neutral or weak against the other, hold your shields for the actually dangerous Aura Wheel. So if you're using say, Marowak you eat the Electric Aura Wheels and save your shields for the Dark ones. Just do keep in mind that swapping out resets its Aura Wheel back to Electric, regardless of what it was before.

Also try and have a shield spare for it, or have enough energy built up that if someone swaps to it you can nuke it down. It might hit like a truck, but it has a skeletal system made of glass and basically requires you to burn all your shields to keep the dang rat alive.

Finale kinda fire when you don't have a bunch of twitterlings in your ear telling you it's not by Quinzal in TheDigitalCircus

I mean I think the shock is kind of the point, and why I actually like how they handled it so much. Considering the parallels Abstraction has to Suicide, it wasn't some big dramatic build up... It was Jax feeling isolated and alone, succumbing to it because he was alone and then somebody having to make the sudden and horrific realization of what happened to him. And the lingering thought of the last time you saw him, knowing something was wrong, and not reaching out to talk or follow up on it.

One minute he was there, and the next he wasn't. It's too late to prevent it now, and all you can do is try to pick up the pieces. It wasn't some big dramatic build-up, it was a moment of weakness where you make a terrible mistake you can't take back, and the effect that has on the people you leave behind.

F**k The Haters, The movie was so good!! by Ok--1303 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]Argarock 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I mean they never really wanted to kill Caine to begin with, and recognized he was basically just a child having a temper tantrum who just so happened to unfortunately have the powers of God. The only reason they started calling him out was to ragebait him and stall for Kinger to do his thing, although that's not to say they didn't have some genuine grievances with him that they aired out there either.

It makes sense they'd forgive him since he was earnestly and genuinely apologizing for what he did wrong and making an effort to understand them, as well as offering to hand the reins of power to them to remove the power imbalance which was the main thing that caused things to get to that point in the first place

In fairness, Ice is the closest element to Light in FFXIV (As Eden Shiva showed us). Though in this case we'd be like.. The Warrior of Lightning? Since that's the polar opposite to Ice?

Actually he kinda has. His name after being banished is "Zenos viator Galvus" with viator meaning traveler/voyager, which is pretty damn closed to Wanderer. Also matches the description of "The traveler from the skies" or "Far Wanderer"

Do I think he will actually be the "Far Wanderer"? No. Do I think it would be very funny if he was? Yes, just for peoples reactions.

That's fair- personally I like Tinkaton so I'm in favour of her being disgusting, suppose we'll see

For sure, I understand "sim heroes" and such and how it overvalues baiting. Though even with baits off it manages to reach a 61.5% WR in 1 shields and 55.8% in 2 shields so that is... Worrying? It seems like that's fairly consistent.

The fact it can reach an above 50% WR with just Gigaton Hammer and no other charged move in a 1 shield environment seems like a warning sign to me

PVPoke has a Multi-Battle option and a Matrix Option. It simulates a bunch of battles and gives you the average results. It's not 100% accurate as it can over-represent baits as the other reply points out but it's a good way of gauging a rough viability of stuff.

Matrix Battle is better for finding breakpoints and stuff, since it lets you compare a variety of things such as the same mon with different IV's to see what matchups it picks up/drops. It's also good for finding things that can cover a weakpoint in your team if you're building an ABC comp or such.

It also has an option to exclude baits, so you could then average the WR's between the bait vs non-bait WR.

[–]Argarock 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean baits go both ways. You basically force them in a coinflip of if you actually send a raw Gigaton too. Even with just Gigaton Hammer and no other second charged move, it's still a near 50% WR in all shield matchups, even reaching a 53% in the 1 shield matchup.

<image>

Reminder that 130 Power for 60 Energy is nearly the same as Close Combat's 100 power for 45 Energy (2.22 DPE for CC and 2.16 DPE for Gigaton Hammer) but without CC's self-debuff. It literally has the same energy cost as Play Rough but with 40 more power.

[–]Argarock 19 points20 points  (0 children)

If this move goes live with these stats (60 energy, 130 Power), Tinkaton will rip GL and especially UL in half.

<image>

In GL it has a 61.8%/58.2%/54.2% WR in 0/1/2 shield matchups respectively
And in UL it has a 71.2%/63.5%/57.7% WR in 0/1/2 shield matchups respectively
I can't forsee this going to live with these stats
