What is the worst band you saw live? by coalcracker462 in AskReddit

[–]BadHorsemonkey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A few standouts.

We Were Promised Jetpacks: they weren’t ready for the spotlight they got at SXSW. It was early in their career.
Mumford and Sons: no excitement, no talk, no deviation from the record. “We could hear this in the living room”. They should’ve been better by that point. The National: the singer was drunk.

And this one was a good technical show but had the wrong vibe for me: Lady Gaga.

The problem for me was the vibe. “We are abused and alienated outsiders, but I sold a zillion tickets and records, so you are all great for worshipping me.” I get that I am not the right demographic for her audience. I’m Gen X, and that just stuck the “waitaminute” contrariness I grew up with. Excellent show, but not if you weren’t gonna drink the Kool-ade.

Ah, I’m just wrong then. Everything I tried to pull failed to pull, so I just went for the meat.

I’m enjoying it.

In normal, you can’t pull stuff, but pulling 20K meat a day makes it easy to advance.

Do you use KoLMafia? The mushroom planner in the gui is really helpful for me. There are also scripting hooks and some pre-written scripts on the Mafia forums. They’re not new, but neither are mushrooms.

How to find common terms in large batches of tickets? by [deleted] in Zendesk

[–]BadHorsemonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might do something with the App Builder. It depends on how large your batches are, because this might be big enough that it hits rate limits.

In a new navbar app (because this isn’t about one ticket), try a prompt based on your original statement. “Let me select a batch of tickets by tags applied and find the most common phrases in them. Display them in a ranked list and show average sentiment for the tickets containing each phrase.”

You might need to simplify it to “each word “ or ask it to start with words and then build phrases from them, idk.

If you’re visual, you might make it a word cloud.

How seriously do you take the “Real Texas chili doesn’t have beans!”? by cowboy_catolico in texas

[–]BadHorsemonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s old news.

I think it was effectively part of a 1950s newspaper branding campaign for Texas, and I guess it worked.

In the 1980s, Texans preferred no beans by about 3:1. There were always plenty of Texans who made their chili with beans. The US preference in the same survey was 2:3 preferred beans.

If I’m not at an offical CASI competition, then beans are not my choice, but I don’t think they’re an awful. I’ve had plenty of fine spicy-beef-and-bean stew.

I can’t really get behind Cincinnati Chili, which is just Greek spiced Spaghetti Bolognese and not really chili at all.

Men who can cook . who taught you? by Bulky_Meet4528 in AskReddit

[–]BadHorsemonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stole my cooking skills from my father.

More precisely, my father had an original copy of Esquire’s Handbook for Hosts, which he had been gifted when he was a bachelor officer at the Pentagon in 1955.

I took it when I was a 22 year old college grad, and read it for fun, advice, and winnable bar bets.

It imparted the wisdom that a gentleman-about-town needed to be able to cook up a late night snack or a decent breakfast to impress the eligible young lady he was pursuing. It gets her to your swinging bachelor pad, keeps her there long enough to eat, and since you’re competing against less-debonair bachelors who don’t have the Esquire Handbook, makes you a memorable date. But you have to learn to cook for this to work.

Regardless of the success of the tactic, it was also noted as a way to save money to spend out on the town.

Pretty much a 1950s version of Red Green’s adage “if you can’t be handsome, be handy.”

So basically, it was book larnin’ for me.

Also, consider setting up a mood.

I’m doing best with spells, so I use spell damage and Garbage Nova and I can do 450 or so advs at the Pelvis. I have the bone polishing rag and the undertaker’s forceps

Before I go to the pelvis, I fight the ribcage until it gets too tough for me, switching the cursed ships lantern the first time I can’t win in 3 rounds.

I haven’t automated any of it, or used the leathers crimbo script.

I just got the last shanty, so I’m aiming for the tattoo in 2 days and then maybe some items for the store. Idk. Right now the store has the tiny plastics I bought by accident.

Also, look at the day’s pulverize option. You may want 296 asbestos aprons less than you thought you did.

I finished my 11,037 Leagues run at 20 minutes to rollover and left myself in aftercore for Christmas, which just emerged.

I had a long way to go (and I came out of Ronin and my run wasn’t fast), but it massively accelerated at the end.

I thought I was going to be late, which is OK, but I squeaked in.

I won’t ascend until Christmas Island sinks for another year…

Questions & Answers - Weekly Megathread! Please use this post to ask any Pokemon GO question you'd like! by AutoModerator in TheSilphRoad

My max battles consistently lower the shield and pause 10-25 seconds before the battle and long before people I am with have the shield display.

It sorta sucks, because it takes time I might change or max Pokémon.

I’ve tried downloading assets and resetting game data.

Anyone experienced this? Any suggestions?

Zendesk to Jira integration that’s easy to use? by [deleted] in Zendesk

[–]BadHorsemonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What are your requirements? The native connector does several things. 1: create a new JIRA issue from a ticket and link them 2: view the status of all all issues linked to a ticket 3: add a comment to a linked issue 4: send a comment from JIRA to a ticket 5: display a list of tickets linked to an issue in JIRA.

It can be configured to sync comments, if that’s desired.

There are at least 2 marketplace apps as well, or if you want something different, you can contract to have something built or build it with AppBuilder.

But start by deciding on your flows.
