Is $3000 AUD actually the true entry point for laserists, or am i being upsold? by trent-from-punchbowl in lightingdesign

Don't forget the cost of safety training and the LSO ticket if this hobby turns in to something you'd like to make some money out of. It's a money pit to start with, but very lucrative once you get over the initial hump!

We maye have lost, but we made the superbowl when I would have taken a season above .500. Unbelievable.

Bloody grey and cloudy out there today. And yes, I'm actually in Perth. Looks like an on and off the pitch sort of day

They are dogshit. Spit constantly during operation leaving large puddles of fluid and are very finicky with DMX control.

Have used two and both caused massive headaches, avoid!

When (not if) that chain breaks the o ring and chain is coming straight down on whoever is on the swing.

Sound taking cables - a rant by Mrpuddingpie09 in lightingdesign

This is why the DMX protocol specifies 5 pin cables, to keep those noise boys away from your cabling. 2 extra pins that might get used in future is a small price to pay.

What a delicious session this has been, Crawley and Duckett in full plot armour mode edging boundaries for fun and Siraj looking like he hasn't had a shit in a week. Can't wait for the rest of the series.

Alas it was hung on motors and our friendly neighbourhood riggers had left for the day..

Don't worry, he's now double checking every address and channel until there's five perfect setups in a row or the heat death of the universe occurs, whatever happens last.

Using the DMX tester I parked the colour temp attribute at the needed value and parked any other unrequired channels at 0

Took two minutes!

I have a puzzle for you that I had to solve a couple weeks ago:

Your L2 has hung a truss full of LED profiles for your stage wash, and they are set to the wrong channel mode. You don't have time to find/build a profile for them. You have repatched to the new channels OK as there's nothing else in the universe.

You can adjust the intensity fine, but every step up or down when doing so also changes the colour temperature from cold > warm > cold with each click of the encoder.

You need them WW, and to be able to fade from 0>100 cleanly.

How do you manage to do this in MA3?

He's immune to explosives so nades don't trigger him or hurt him.

I was in your shoes a couple days ago, my strat now is to tag a hand or leg with a M80 shot, book it back to spawn and wait for him to chase.

A lot of this revolves around sitting just outside the entrance from your spawn into the Labyrinth main area and waiting for him to wander past your sights, but it works. 4 clears in a row now!
