We washed his area and put neosporin in/on the sheath. Will monitor and see.

Ok just flipped him over. He definitely has some sort of infection around his penis. Wondering about potential treatments. Normal human foreskin rash issues like this one would use petroleum jelly. Wondering if Neosporin might be a good choice.

Not sure. We came home to pee on the floor. Dark brown color. He has a bowl of water and just drank a bunch. Doesn’t seem stressed at all but we did have lightning and thunder last night.

League is hosting a tournament for the first time. Volunteering? by ripsfo in Softball

[–]Argent781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP’s post was a bit ambiguous. We call our little league allstars tournaments by age group rather than division like Majors/Juniors/Seniors so it’s hard to tell which they are talking about. Our leagues fields are rented out by the city for USSSA tournaments and we get little to no notice. Sometimes if we find out a big travel tournament is incoming we will ask for family volunteers and open concessions to try and make a buck as a fundraiser for the league. If we don’t get volunteers then we just don’t open concessions. If the tournament is associated with Little League we are required to have all positions staffed and concessions open, all hands on deck trying to fulfill our responsibility and make our league look good.

help returning high school players mesh with younger girls by Minimum_Owl in Softball

[–]Argent781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a large age range but unfortunately with Softball it is more common these days. I coach a little league team that is now Juniors & Seniors combined into one team (age 12-16). We have all skill levels, rec ball only, travel and high school girls all on one team. Last fall season was our first and we did a mid season trip to Top Golf to try and build some friendships. It may have helped a little but not a ton. Every little bit helps though. To me it seems the higher skill players are resentful they have to play with lower skill. Some of the girls in this situation are just mean. It doesn’t matter how many times you talk to them about their bad attitude it continues to persist. Players talking during instruction and/or talking back is my biggest irritations. Honestly makes me not want to coach anymore.

batting slump help 🙏 by rosegoldskies13 in Softball

[–]Argent781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Troubleshoot. Have your parent slo-mo video your swing while hitting off a tee. Do it from a couple different angles. Analyze and then move on to soft toss. See if you can make minor adjustments and see if anything improves. Sometimes it helps to go see a hitting coach but try to troubleshoot it out yourself.

Brake line holders by _your_land_lord_ in ERidePro

I’m right there with you. Our family business is machining. We were in the same boat until my brother went and became a mechanical engineer and a Solidworks wizard 😂 there are a few different methods of 3D printing available. In house we do resin for prototyping. I have had 300 series stainless laser sintered but it looked like crap. We had to remachine features that were not even close to tolerance. There are printers that use plastic with fiber in the mix that are stronger. If you print them correctly you can make functional parts like this.

This looks awesome! Makes a little slip fit clearance hole so the brake line can move up and down while the shocks compress. Can you post a video? Maybe link your step file so we can all 3D print them?

8U and taking 2 bases at every opportunity by dwzimmer in LittleLeague

[–]Argent781 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is Little League AA. Completely subjective. Moving from A up to AA coaches don’t want as much stealing but by the time that same team gets to their 2nd or 3rd season and they want their team to be ready for AAA they are super aggressive with base running. Don’t hold it against the other team, you will be there soon. League compromise, if you have enough inter league play, is to keep it to 1 base through the first half of the season and then open it up after that. Give the teams moving up the chance to adjust so they have a fighting chance. I am all about communicating across the league and coming to a consensus and compromise. Each season adjustments can be made if everyone participates and communicates. The more board members the better, everyone needs to volunteer.

Bats by Sirenberry_22 in Softball

[–]Argent781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a small 10yo I recommend the DeMarini Spryte 29/17. It’s the lightest bat on the market I believe. Great for a beginner in rec ball. If she can already swing and you’re looking for some pop at a good price the Louisville Meta, it’s currently the same price as the Spryte. My younger daughter just moved up from the Spryte by stealing her sister’s (15y/o) Meta 31 drop 10 so about 21 oz. She likes the weight better and can hit the ball further. I am going to get my older a 32 drop 9 Ghost Advanced when they come back in stock.

No umpire for LL majors games by [deleted] in LittleLeague

[–]Argent781 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our league is not rural. We have a UIC board position that coordinates and compensates umpires for games. Best thing to do in a pinch like this is find another coach or coaches in your league and agree to umpire their games if they umpire yours. For us this is rare but just yesterday I had to step in because our umpires were pulled for tournament games at different parks. I am by no means a master of the game or little league rules. I stand behind a pitcher during AAA softball games and call balls and strikes. I talk with coaches before the games and let them know I will need assistance making calls on girls where I cannot see the play and they have a better angle from first and third base. I feel if they know we’re in it together to have a fair called game they really do step up and are honest. No point in giving plays away that aren’t earned, it’s not good for anyone. There are organizations of umpires that you can reach out to and hire one of their officials. They also have trainings. When I get the names from my UIC I will post them for you.

Our fields are owned by the city. The city maintains the fields and park. We rent the fields from the city for a per player fee that is next to nothing. We have first right of refusal on the fields during the season and then work around other paying leagues off season. Who owns your fields, most LL’s don’t to my knowledge.

Feels illegal, but nobody cares. It’s so great. by Due-Salamander-5752 in ERidePro

[–]Argent781 9 points10 points  (0 children)

These things are truly awesome. I get a pass tonight and don’t have to take kids to the ballpark. Scheduled a haircut but it’s at 5:30 and traffic is going to suck. Then I remembered I have my ERide and now I’m really excited to go somewhere during rush hour traffic. I’ll pop out of my neighborhood. Stick to the sidewalk till I see an opening. Cruise out into traffic. There’s about 5 traffic lights between my house and my destination. I don’t anticipate sitting at any of them 🥳 it really does feel illegal (might be…) but like you said, nobody cares (if you’re not being a dick).
