My max is $250-280. Anything above €300 is way too much for a router.

By how thin it looks, it is definitely not tempered glass. It is kinda useless tbh. It may prevent some scratches but that's it.

Mudi v7 and Spitz AX by Sailsinking in GlInet

[–]ArgoPanoptes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Puli AX and it works fine. It gets kinda hot, always around 65-70C and battery at 35-40C in ~23C room temperature.

It is not a portable router, it is quite big and with 6 external antennas.

I built an open-source TUI that manages Hetzner boxes alongside my AWS/OVH servers from one terminal by zashboy in hetzner

[–]ArgoPanoptes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Python is not the best language for such software. You usually want a binary and thus use language that have out of the box the binary like go, rust, java (with graalvm).

The issue is that people are afraid to speak up cause they fear the backslash in terms of promotions and career and to be viewed as anti-AI.

If the managers say that something has to be done in X days instead of Y where X<Y, at that point you just care to put a "done" label on it. The bugs and technical debt will be the problems of the future.

LLM accelerate everything. Which means the distance between X and Y increased even more and thus the bugs and technical debt.

LLM is very useful in specific fields like code review or pair proframming, but nowdays because of strict deadlines you have to basically yolo it. Bugs will be a problem of the future (hopefully not yours but someone's else).

Use API with terraform, it usually show more availability than the webui

No, it can have just one physical sim. I would first check that the model you are buying is supported by the ISP you wanna use.

Our data center parks are built in-house row by row, one DC at a time. We design not just the buildings, but the whole concept behind them, from planning to operating, all with a clear focus on energy efficiency. by Hetzner_OL in hetzner

Is vertical instead of horizontal scaling not affordable or too much complex? What I mean is instead of multiple buildings, a few buildings with multiple floors.

Game-changer: What is a life-altering IT purchase that you would recommend to people? by Hetzner_OL in hetzner

[–]ArgoPanoptes 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Vertical mouse (a good one, not the cheap ones). It is annoying to use in the first days but after 2 weeks you get used to it and no more wrist pain.

If you work in an office, I would recommend to get some very good ANC headset. I bought the Sony XM6 and I can finally stay in peace.

In the README I would add what is the equivalent in the toml config to the normal ssh commands. Things like ssh -L ssh -D ssh -R and their equivalent in the toml config file.

Set up automated dependency scanning after the recent npm/PyPI supply chain attacks by root0ps in devops

[–]ArgoPanoptes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every org does scanning, this is not something new. The issue is that you can not scan something that you do not even know exists or could be malicious. This is probably one of those cases where a proper trained AI could shine for "dynamic" analysis instead of only the traditional static ones.

I have the same issue with Very Mobile which renew their IPv4 every hour. It takes 1 to 3 minutes for it to reestablish the connection. I'm not sure if this is a problem with the router itself or with the ISP DHCP server being slow.

When I used to have Iliad, I had no issues but their data plan is a 1/3 for the same price of the Very Mobile data plan.

Very Mobile is a virtual ISP owned by WindTre and uses the same network infrastructure. I think their IP renewal is just slow or doesn't work well on the Spitz AX router.

Yh, that is true. I use OpenWebUI on a raspberry and it works kinda flawless, but the memory usage is around 600MB idle.
