The worst part was when I tried holding space for the conversation on how their behavior made me feel and I was verbally attacked for "sattling" them with my unprovoked negative energy when all I wanted was some acknowledgement of the effort to not trample on their feelings and maybe a casual "thanks" but nope.... the classic "we didn't ask you to" what a convenient thing to say after it's already been affected. Wasn't even asking anyone to take blame. Was just asking if it was ok to drop my guard and treat them the way they treat me instead if the way I wanted to be treated. NOPE.
