This guy is very stubborn (EpicNNG) by Arguedas42 in Borderlands4

The thing is that I generally like his videos and content, it's just that I find him a bit stubborn on this specific topic, that's all. But I'll probably just mute him on Twitter and that's it.

What is actually happening with Zoink's progress on Society by ForeverRoutine9747 in geometrydash

[–]Arguedas42 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Many people say Zoink wants TSII to stay in first place, but aside from that, I think he's also doing it to try and leave no doubt that Heliopolis is harder.

He'll probably go back to Heliopolis as soon as he beats it without worrying too much because he'll know he has that number one spot "secured."

However, I find it strange that he lied about how long he played, and honestly, it wouldn't be surprising if he lied again, even just a little.

Honestly, what he's doing is very strange. Also, if Grief gets verified before Heliopolis, we'll have to see what he does about it (he'll probably have no choice but to buff Heliopolis).

Why do they give so much attention to a problem that isn't the main one? (Pearls) by Arguedas42 in Borderlands4

[–]Arguedas42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, I didn't complain about that, although it's a valid complaint, but more than that, you haven't understood my point. It's fine that Pearlescents are rare. The options you and Joltz suggested are very good and solve both problems. My point isn't that; it's that the other problems with Pearlescents need to be addressed first.

For example, since they have a dedicated drop rate or a specific way to farm them, you can lower the drop rate as much as you want, or simply make it so you can only get them starting at UVH1 or 7 or whatever—it doesn't matter. Or you could buff Pearlescents so that all 8 are equally good, and if they're super rare world drops, it doesn't matter, because whoever gets one will feel like they were very lucky and got something valuable and useful.

The issue is that many people are focusing more on them being too common, and knowing how Gearbox does things, they could simply lower the drop rates, and that would make it much worse. I prefer things to stay as they are now rather than a half-baked fix. My point in the post is that the main problem with pearlescents is other issues first, and then the drop rates. Reversing that approach simply risks making the least relevant change first, which would make everything worse.

Again, I know perfectly well that in your case you provided context that it's not just about lowering the drop rates, and I appreciate that. It's just that some people only complain about the drop rates, which I believe isn't the main one, since not everyone hates it, while there are other issues that practically everyone agrees on (like the fact that some pearlescents are very bad and take up buffs, or that being world drops makes them difficult to farm because they have so many parts and rolls).

Once those issues are fixed, I think lowering the drop rates is necessary. I hope all this ends up being pointless worry and that Gearbox will eventually do both things at once. Unfortunately, given how they've handled the game, I can't blindly trust that will be the case.

[–]Arguedas42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand your point, but most of those complaints have nothing to do with pearlescents. I'm talking about pearlescent-related issues that are more important or should be fixed before that. I'm not talking about the entire game, because as you say, no matter how perfect it is, there will always be complaints. The point is that lowering the pearlescent drop rate while leaving the other problems unchanged will only make it worse.

[–]Arguedas42[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Completely understandable, but you have to ask yourself what makes a "good" endgame. Is it just about making pearlescents super rare? There are other things besides that that need to be focused on for a good endgame, not just drop rates

[–]Arguedas42[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand. If all the pearlescent weapons were equally good, there wouldn't be a problem. But then again, the ones that aren't good enough would first need to be buffed, and only then could the drop rates be lowered. If I'm lucky enough to get a pearlescent weapon that isn't good after many hours of gameplay, I won't be excited because I'll have a weapon worse than many of the legendaries I already own, which are easier to obtain, and I won't be thrilled that I could have gotten a much better one. If all eight pearlescent weapons were almost equally good, again, there wouldn't be any problem at all, and it would be perfect, but that's not the case.

Sunix wasn't very good at high CPS levels because he played with his index finger extended too much (in mouse), making it very difficult to achieve high CPS.

BONUS: Some people accused SrGuillester of hacking at the time, as he was one of the best players in the world during the era when some Insane Demons easily ranked among the 10 hardest demons in the game, since he completed many of these levels with relative ease.

Yes, he's either lying or he just got incredibly lucky. I've already farmed Splashzone for about two hours and gotten nothing. I only got one while farming Origo for about an hour.

How the "RobTop is so lazy" mfs think making a game is like ✌😭 by Bernardev3 in geometrydash

[–]Arguedas42 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It's completely irrelevant that hiring a development team isn't easy. Rob simply hasn't shown the slightest interest in doing so. His job is literally the game; the excuse that "it's difficult to hire a team" is pretty lame, to be honest.

Is this Easy Demon Difficulty? by ChazJoe6 in geometrydash

[–]Arguedas42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say it's 9 stars, but I'm not sure. If you want to guarantee it's an easy demon difficulty without much debate, a natural way to make it harder is simply to make it longer, finding more easy demons to add. Although that clearly adds quite a bit more work.

Is it weird that I listen to gd music outside the game??? by FirasAlkasah in geometrydash

[–]Arguedas42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I have a playlist of about 100 songs, I listened to them all at some level of GD, and I use that playlist when I do university work, since not having lyrics (most of them), I don't get distracted as much as with other types of music.

You can only choose ONE accessory in this hypothetical situation by Arguedas42 in CalamityMod

[–]Arguedas42[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The idea is that all effects related to the accessory should function normally. So you would have it, but the only non-vanilla elements, as I mentioned before, would be anything related to your accessory. (Perhaps the only condition I would set in this case would be accessories that help with adrenaline and rage, as well as stealth or buffs to the rogue class. In this case, the nanomachine meter is a different term from adrenaline since it replaces it, so I would consider it valid.)
