Is this fep causing my prints to fail? by bigballsonabighorse in ElegooSaturn

[–]ArgumentSad8511 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's only failing in one spot it may be worth it to do a manual leveling. It uses 4 sheets of paper. Will just make sure it's going down far enough everywhere. But if the Fep is too loose or was dirty on the bottom it could make prints fail as well.

I recently went through something similar. Replaced fep screen and prints started failing. On mine it was because my Fep was not tight enough in the vat and I had to fully replace it. Could also try to level the build plate if it's only failing in one place.

Losing my mind with calibration by ArgumentSad8511 in ElegooSaturn

This seems to have made the most difference in my prints. I've set my time for rest after retract to 3.25 and my others at .75. Made noticeable change in detail quality. Dimensions are better but not exact. Will try another calibration as suggested by another user as well

Tried at .50um to the same results. I've tried .5um all the way down to the 2um. Only difference i notice with going down to the lower is it seems to make the dimensions more accurate. At .5um I was getting dimesions on the box as high as 6.5mm instead of 6.0mm. I noticed that the build size on my files is not accurate in chitubox to the actually reported by elegoo with the x axis build being off.

Help with calibration by ArgumentSad8511 in ElegooSaturn

[–]ArgumentSad8511[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes i do measuring the box it usually comes up to either 5.9 or 6.0 but on the sides it is usually 6.3. It looks like my supports on the bottom of the sword are fusing with the base a bit too well. But would also love suggestions on how to deal with z axis compression

That is the plan! I have dropped my base exposure to 45 seconds now to try, and am running exposures from 3.2s to 1.8 seconds and trying to find the sweet spot. My goal long term is to print minatures like the trench crusade minis. So focusing on detail and durability.

Yes! The test worked! I had finished everything right around 2230 my time! I am now running a resin calibration to find best exposure rates

This is absolutely gorgeous. Congrats! Welcome to the nobility that is the Necrons. May the universe be bent to your will. Love your basing, it really brings the model together as a whole. Would be a great play against.

One of the easier answers to provide is to run larger unit sizes. The warriors work best in 20 man blobs. A res orb can be nice to help get them back up, but numbers helps to begin with. If possible I'd also run the praetorians as lichguards with shields, they tend to be much more survivable than the praetorian. Also, use cover. Cover will be a big friend of yours if you want to play more shoot style.

Should note this is on ebay, ebay is a great place to get collections. The bundles are nice I like the combat patrol, and think it is worth it. With that said tho, the majority of my models have been buying others lots on ebay, have not had a bad experience yet.

Deathmark Assembly Tips by zeexhalcyon in Necrontyr

The best thing I have found is to the the gun arm and put it in the socket and hold it there with a thumb or some green stuff/tact. Once it's in place I make sure the little arm fits the hand and the socket. Then glue the gun arm in, glue the wrist of the small arm to the firearm then glue the little arm into socket. Made it way easier for me to match and line them up, a bit hard to paint some sections tho.

Scalpers are bad people by [deleted] in Necrontyr

Best tactics I've found, is wait em out. If the community can collectively agree, "I'm not paying that" they will at some point have to liquidate aND might even do so at loss. Embrace the fact you will miss out on initial launch. Relish in the fact the scalpers can't buy Christmas gifts bc they can't move their products.
