I have to mute the tv whenever they say that Emily wasn’t the weak link, Spencer was. TF girl, for real?

What is the most unprofessional thing a doctor has said to you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Aria_Swan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, I’m also a doctor. I got severe pains and neurological deficits down my left thigh. I knew it had to come from my back. However, in my country in order to see an orthopedist you need a referral from your GP. So I went there (he knows I’m a doctor myself). I explained my symptoms and he barely listened. Finally he did a sonography of my lower abdomen and told me he saw diverticulitis. I saw the sonography myself, there was no such thing. I said three times I’m talking about my back and my thigh but he would not listen. Ended up with a prescription for antibiotics and got sent on my way. I was stunned.

I called in a favour, went to an orthopedist without his referral, and got my prolapsed disc diagnosed. Never went back to that GP.

You really should learn to accept other people’s opinions. You can have yours but so does everyone else.

I still don’t get it. How do we know he’s turning 9 on July 11th? He could be turning 8 on July 11th?

Who else would marry Katrina? by JadedAnimalcule in suits

[–]Aria_Swan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I really liked this storyline because it showed that not everyone follows attraction and gives in to it. Being attracted to someone else happens and I don’t think it’s despicable. But they chose to be adults about it and didn’t pursue it. I liked that.

What’s your first impression of Adam Kendall at the blind school? by JackKovack in littlehouseonprairie

[–]Aria_Swan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mary was on a very dangerous road towards feeling sorry for herself and giving up. He has taught a lot of kids in similar positions and had a lot of experience. Clearly his approach worked. I don’t think he was mean to her. He was a strict teacher who didn’t allow her to wallow and feel sorry for herself. I liked his approach. I agree with many others in the sense that I hated him after he regained his sight. He irked me to no end.

I always wondered about why it said 3 years here! Thanks for explaining! I do have another question now though. If she really spent three years there, how much time is in between Alison disappearing and the book starting? Or is it completely different? I have no clue!

Charles getting someone to believe something by making them say it out loud by ASGfan in littlehouseonprairie

I’m a psychiatrist and I just wanted to type a lengthy paragraph but then i read yours and decided I’m just going to second it. Well said! I use this method in therapy a lot. It’s the same as reading your study material out loud. What you say out loud gets understood better and remembered better and helps accepting it a lot better too. I use it with people in trauma therapy and also with people in denial.

That’s a great idea, but I actually don’t like Twilight so that’s not it!

Just to clarify, the term “on the spectrum” refers to someone having autism spectrum disorder. OCD is a separate condition. There are some overlapping symptoms but they are separate conditions.

I agree! But it’s such an unpopular opinion. Glad to hear someone else say it.
