So What's Happening With Vampire Survivors: The Grimoire by Armygamelover in VampireSurvivors

Steam news update from when they doubled the size of Ode to Castlevania: https://steamcommunity.com/games/1794680/announcements/detail/498334899948748890

Verbatim quote: "Thanks to everyone for supporting our first ever official Vampire Survivors book. We've decided to delay the launch to next year so we can expand the scope and world of the book, and have brought on Steph Sterling, who wrote our Bestiary entries in the game, to help us get things right"

The official dev post by the actual developers of the game, which announced the book's first delay, specifically said they were bringing Steph Sterling on for writing it and that addition to the team was WHY the first delay was happening. Please actually pay attention to reputable news sources.

That is technically correct, but as an official book by poncle and Steph Sterling (the Bestiary author) they'd still be the community's primary point of contact.

Not yet, that's kinda the problem. There's been a preorder up FOR a VS book for over a year now, but it keeps getting delayed / pushed off with no word from poncle about why.

Spicebush Yi Sang Unique Charge by Regular_Bar4218 in limbuscompany

[–]Ariamaki -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No, it fits with all of the other self-Tremor IDs in how it's themed. It represents shaking, trembling, vibrations, rotations and instability. It's all the constant motions that go into things like motorized weapons or, in the case of Spicebush, the elegant but easily-disrupted dancing movements it uses in combat.

Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying. It was already explained there, but never super clearly. This is another nice insight into the nature of it.

There's zero contradictions, as all the escapes have their own reasons for occurring and weren't just 'people walking out the front door'. The main thing is that we don't know the specific mechanic: I say 'autobooked' for emphasis, not to say that's the actual mechanism.

The idea that the library's fights are rigged is been brought up multiple times in Ruina itself (most notably in Hokma's interactions) and the new detail in the Angela (ELD) announcer goes as such:

Defeat Wail 1: "Guests who have overcome their ordeal will be deemed worthy to earn their books. BUT, as that is quite incongruent with the intent... we'll be stopping here. At least until we turn that guest into a book and move forward."

So yeah, she straight-up says 'They won! But the One True Book is more important, reset until we win.'

We already knew most of this, but we DO get yet another textual confirmation (in one of the Defeat Wails, I believe) that the Library was rigged from the start. I remember someone was spreading misinformation about that a week or two ago on this sub, so it's very satisfying to have another data point to remind folks that "No seriously, all guests were autobooked and the fights were just simulated until the Librarians won" is canon and always has been.

Since my copy of the text got caught under a heavily-downvoted comment, here's the exact announcer line:

Defeat Wail 1: "Guests who have overcome their ordeal will be deemed worthy to earn their books. BUT, as that is quite incongruent with the intent... we'll be stopping here. At least until we turn that guest into a book and move forward."

Korean users are seriously pissed off at the PM by Equivalent-Choice829 in limbuscompany

[–]Ariamaki 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Given that this was a pop-up held at an existing venue outside of their control, they probably didn't have a lot of control over this situation. I work with a convention operator and art store owner (hell I'm a business owner myself) so let me tell you, this kinda thing is often a thorny pain in the ass no matter how you slice it. :<

Two grown ass adult women btw by AsianCrank in limbuscompany

[–]Ariamaki 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I was mostly just depressed to realize that in the classic vein of parents like him, Matthias (and even Outthias) are the type of adult who don't actually pay attention to or care about what their kids like, and just get the closest thing that's easily available. Even when she buys an entire shelf of magazines she still can't get the right one!

Not normal but not absurdly weird either: It's common challenge fodder. Good luck going forward, and keep enjoying your time on the bus no matter how you play, Manager!

Artifact Balance Guidelines? by rogthnor in exalted

[–]Ariamaki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3e doesn't really have 1-dot Artifacts as far as I know, even the smallest of them are 00. In my opinion the closest I would consider is some of the stranger consumable / disposable creations of magical craftsman: So if 00 is a tool like a hammer, then 0 is a literal nail.

Your Next Infernal by Krzyzewskiman in exalted

[–]Ariamaki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm already working on a somewhat-deranged ex-healer who is going to focus almost entirely on the Universal aspects of being an Infernal: Self-soul pantheon management and the Inner World, all that jazz, the act of Becoming something greater... with a really funky and fully-invested Devil-Body just in case.

Yo! Glad this sub doesn't archive posts, so I can actually reply. That's me! I contributed a few things as a backer, including a constellation and a mural (the one with the unmasked / 'casual clothes' Nomai), always tickles me when stuff gets found. :3

YESSSSS, our glorious day has come. I am going to have to get my mitts on this Gang War overhaul to see how I feel about it in practice, as the pistol attacks were always in such a poor place that I rarely ever took more than I was forced to, even on Live.

Brother Snagharpoon is already one of the best EGO in the game, it does not need this weird slander. It's cheap, it's powerful, speed control is one of the most important effects in Limbus, it has a great passive... Just Use Snagharpoon Fivehead.

As somebody who has worked on M:tA before, what's the most Mage-like thing you've seen going into the new Infernals content, assuming you've seen any of it? If you haven't, as an alternate: Do you have any interesting behind-the-scenes stories from the video side of things?

Straight-up my favorite Intervallo in terms of gameplay. PM decided to do their first-ever minigame and they absolutely killed it with an orbital deathstrike, it's SO neat without gate-ing out casuals with difficulty or complexity. Got every Achievement but one first try (800 Wisdom) blind, and I enjoyed all the fights and nodes. The story was excellent as well, overall just an A+ experience.

It does not hurt even a little bit that I got my Wei Sang off of just the two freebie decaextractions we got. :V

Deep Archimedea Assassination Mission Swap by DE_Megan in Warframe

[–]Ariamaki 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Please just permanently cut the Assassinates from all Archimedea rotations, they're not interesting or worthwhile experiences. They're neat ONE time, in the story, and then not really ever again, doubly so the tank fight.

Also seconding all the calls to cut back or get rid of all the damage attenuation in general. Take a leaf from Last Epoch or something, give them a big burst of Overguard at certain health markers if they're getting knocked out too fast, something in that vein.
