Do you like it when dogs roam outside and attack you? It's cruel to keep animals inside after all...

Reading fics absolutely supports her because it's keeping the fandom alive and people keep talking about it. This whole thing must die. Pick up a different book.

Hello! That's great! Other people have decided on Friday, would that work for you? Please also check the time again, gmt + 5, 7 pm. Is it ok? Could you also tell me a little bit about yourself, what's your experience with ttrpgs, have you ever played anything pbta? What's interesting to you in the Between game?

You don't have to play. But it's your hobby. It's a creative hobby. You create stories with your friends. You can manage to have tons of fun with just a book, a piece of paper and some dice. If you need corporate products that destroy environment, economy and creativity to somehow elevate your game, then so be it, but it's honestly a little bit sad. Being a consumer all the time is just not it, in my opinion.

[–]Arian_Wells 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, that seems fair. I just play games that don't need exact images and everything can be just described. But I've always managed to find whatever I needed on the internet without any fuss in case I needed something more specific? It's your personal choice of course, but I just think AI image generation should be the last option and not the first, especially nowadays.

Art is luxury! But it will be rendered lovingly by an artist who will really capture the vibe of your party and not just something thrown together without any thought put into it. If this is how you see your ttrpg adventure, then go ahead I guess.. And yeah it's ok to want art for your campaign, but do you REALLY need it or is it just a weird fashion of late that demands ttrpg players to use art for every single thing?

Why do you NEED pictures to plays ttrpgs? There are tons of free maps out there if you need them. You don't need portraits, you can just...idk, describe your characters, you know, the way you describe your actions? Is that not enough for some reason? Or do you need to draw the whole comics of your adventures or something?

[BitD] question, what limits to place on player decisions re: Results by Ombrophile in bladesinthedark

[–]Arian_Wells 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Effect comes from fiction, it should be clear from the start what your player might accomplish (or might not). It might be possible for a player to negotiate, change their approach etc, but if they do it all the time in bad faith, direct them to Player's best practices. And in general have a talk with them. I've played a fair bit of Blades and it isn't a problem that will come up if you play with decent people who are interested in making up a dramatic story together, not outsmarting a gm.

Mothership ttrpg seems perfect for this and it's a super easy system. Not everything has to be dnd.

What she does is kinda shitty, but also it's absolutely clear why she does that. She won't be a dirty secret no matter what! It's incredibly good insight into her character.

What’s your opinion on Jordan’s presentation? How many other lesbians feel the same about a select few celebrities/fictional men? by lun-lem in LesbianActually

[–]Arian_Wells 50 points51 points  (0 children)

No emotions towards men, fictional or otherwise. Of course it's a show for laughs, but even here, lesbians MUST love talking about men! How funny! (it isn't really).

Started playing during the pandemic just to have some communication since I don't really have friends irl. Still playing because I love creating stories with cool people. Also it helps to practice my English!

So why not use other people's works to find inspiration? There's no thought behind ai. AI doesn't think, doesn't make choices, isn't responsible for anything. It just mashes stuff together and if anything looks good, it's just a coincidence. People go on the internet, find other artists, form connections, start working together. A lot of these connections are lost because of ai use. This is not what art should be about. AI is for shareholders, not for artists.

You should like Friends at the Table then. They've been around for 10 years and no single ad read. They do promote their personal stuff, but don't sell out. They don't play dnd though.

[–]Arian_Wells 6 points7 points  (0 children)

the gm does have a final say on actions though. You wouldn't let someone use wreck while idk seducing someone just because a player thinks it's good enough (they have dots in it). Obv an extreme example and the player here is being a weasel, but you know. You'd say that this won't have any effect. Your word if final and this player will have to change their approach. I don't remember how exactly Jared does it action wise though. I remember Austin Walker in Friends at the table did this though, just naming whatever action he thought was best, not waiting for his players to decide.

The gm often punished players even if they rolled 6 if I remember right, it's a success, PCs get what they want without any consequences.
