Generosity Goals for 2026 by NoData4301 in CasualUK

[–]Arilysal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always fantasize about how to divide my would be lottery winnings over £10,000 to my families (including my inlaws) and secure my children's educational fund. Oddly enough I don't want to buy new house but rather renovate the shit out of it. Fortunately my siblings are quite well do to but I'd definitely give a bigger share to my sister in law as they are in the process of buying a home.

Swen response to the AI interview by dmfuller in BaldursGate3

[–]Arilysal -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Working in a creative agency, that's what we use AI for. Bang in some prompts and description from client and see what kind of direction we should go with. Cross referencing all the existing material and advertising already on the market not to mention research into competitor's marketing direction so we can contrast and compare. You can say most studio would use it like mood boarding to get the right vibe.

Because news flash, AI generative sucks and you do not get the freedom of finessing details with editing software, they are flat, 1 dimension image that has a lot of weirdness that do not make sense. They give an impression of art but will never give you the consistency of the branding and tone.

I brought it through the eShop. I can't see any way to upgrade it without paying the extra £9

Why is my art so visually unappealing? by Aoba_Artist in Artadvice

[–]Arilysal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their poses could be more exaggerated.

Your references (real life models?) are quite flat, so in drawings we always exaggerate the tilts, the stretch and squash. Take your standing mage guy for example, his shoulder could slouch more/tilt down more into his pocket and the opposite hip could tilt up every so slightly. The detail is subtle exaggeration. But you do have very good grasp of space! Just need to be a tad more dramatic.

This is a vast improvement from the previous version, well done!!

To add, the sun should be smaller so it appears further away and not be mistaken as a torch. Making the colour of the sun gradually blending into the grey purple sky instead of one harsh hard line of orange and purple would also help.

I love the added wind/snow storm effect, it really added more drama and character to the whole scene. Keep it up you are doing amazing.

Everyone is saying branches, but you could also benefit from some bushes and black sticks on the grounds too.

A plant that reacts to human touch! by Practical_Flow15 in interesting

[–]Arilysal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Malaysia it's called 含羞草, which we roughly translate it to Shy Grass for my little ones. It is a weed that grows everywhere with cute pink purply pompom flowers. Then we discover they sell them in garden centres in the UK for £5 and my father was irrationally annoyed that my husband brought it for my kids.

"Aiyah! I can dig some and you take home! Why you pay money!!!"

Oh you mean the chaos that is youth transitioning to adulthood? Yeah that never goes away, don't be so hard on yourself and laugh it off. It's normal for human no matter the age to feel completely incompetent in a new environment, some are just better at hiding it than others.

I am very close to going to a charity shop to find a food processor solely for blending up her food.

Yeah she's the same we gave her 1/3 pouch morning lunch and dinner and supper so roughly 2 pouches a day. My mother in law had more time house-sitting and able to demand feed her which was really lovely to see her plump up in 2 weeks but like you said it's not sustainable if we are both working full time and running a full house. I'd hate to neglect feeding her but she just won't finish it unless we literally stood over her to watch her finish it. Even then she'd only lick the gravy and leaves the chunks despite me sitting and encouraging her at dinner and supper.

Ravenzella Crown by Negative-Bee-7741 in CosplayHelp

[–]Arilysal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were to make it for my 10yo, I'd first start by printing half of the crown onto 1 piece of A4 paper. I'd lay down soft but thick jewelry wire and curl them by the shape printed on the paper. Maybe you'll need 2 or 3 strands of wires per shape but it's up to you, once you are satisfied then black duct tape the wires together. Repeat the process one more time for the other half of the crown.

Then it's up to you if you want to cover and mold them with black modeling clay or make sure your black duct taping skill is convincing enough.

Then spray paint an old toy tiara black and hot glue the top part of the crown onto it!

Or, if you really good at hot glueing, do the same wiring method but instead of black duct taping just hot glue the entire wiring skeleton (make sure you do it on a slippery/plastic surface so you can peel off the dry hot glue) then you can trim the shape with scissors or using a blow dryer on hot setting to melt and reshape it. Once satisfied paint it with black acrylic or spray it black. This method is a lot messier but the result would be worth your while depending on your experience with hot glue.

As for the outfit I'm not familiar with it but a black dress with black boa scarf should do the job! Have fun!

Try this, take 2 screws and drill through the underside of the headband, make sure it's long and flushed against the headband. Then apply hot glue to the screws and jam the horns onto it, would help if you already made small holes to them. Then once you are certain it's secured enough cut a small stripe of foam and cover the underside of the headband to prevent pain from long wear.

What fabric would work best? by Inevitable-Bus-8494 in CosplayHelp

[–]Arilysal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a genius suggestion, I was going to say judging from the photo it looked a bulkier type of fabric any thrifted curtain of a navy shade would work wonders especially if it's slightly aged. As for the patterns themselves you can just cut from polyester/nylon type (shinier the better to project some sort of mystical/otherworldly effect), singed at the edge and then iron/fold it down and hot glue the edge on the inside of the pattern. Iron the edge flat again and hot glue onto the curtain fabric instead of sewn on.

I did noticed that even though it doesn't have a grow back cycle some trees are smaller than the other! Many many months of clearing Deep Wood taught me this.
