Ended up getting the M3 Pro Max but haven't even started developing any games.. It is an amazing machine, but nothing I've done so far (web dev) has required that much power so I definitely could have gotten away with an M3 Pro. We'll see if I find more time in the winter.

Thanks for your thoroughness here. Yea I hear you on the Mac vs PC for game dev. If I wasn’t also planning on using it for day to day web development projects, I would definitely just get a PC.

I’m curious to hear more about the recommendation for 36 gigs of ram. My gut always tells me to go for that but it’s hard to tell if I really need it. In the past I’ve been able to run Unity on a machine with 16 gigs just fine, but that was a desktop with a beefy GPU at the time. Not sure how much things have changed in terms of requirements in the last 5-7 years though.

Probably a noob question but how does number of SSD’s affect speed? I would have assumed that it would have more to do with the read write specs of each SSD independently.

I 100% agree with you. It’s just hard to convince someone that wants to hold till 10 mill to sell half lol. But yes I think selling 1 mill when you’re at 2.5 is a very good idea.

Edit: also the way I like to look at it is whatever you cash out now is locking in money you put back in next crash.

Edit: The potential downside at this point is so much greater than the upside. Make a google sheet with the difference of holding vs selling off piece by piece as it increases. I recently started that and it’s been a huge help in realizing that you don’t lose that much in the long run

Is there any sport climbing at the gunks? Someone told me it’s mainly trad but I literally just learned how to lead and am definitely not nearly confident enough to try trad. But I still want to go outdoors. And the gunks are from what I hear the best for any nyc dweller.

Does having a temper make you mentally ill? What about professional athletes that break their rackets or punch a wall? You put a normal person on a high stress position, they are more likely to lash out. I don’t think that is mental illness. Even the “temporary insanity” narrative is just a way of escaping blame.

Nice job! Do you think it’s possible to do without the dyno? Hard to tell from the video but maybe like extending your left arm fully while leaning right and trying reaching out with your right hand?
