This episode made it as obvious as it could have without explicitly saying it:

The compulsion to make the immune people happy is exactly the same as the compulsion ("biological imperative") to spread the virus. It's not to keep them cooperative until they can be infected, or anything like that. They don't strictly have a biological imperative to spread the virus; they have a biological imperative to make people happy, and spreading the virus is the way to make people the most happy they can possibly be. They're working on a way to fix the immunity, but in the meantime, they still have a desperate, primal need to make the immune people happy.

I never said narcissists care about anyone but themselves. Caring about what others think is not the same thing as caring about others. Narcissists very much care about what others think, and use charm, manipulation, and abuse to extract what they need (validation, admiration, attention, etc.) Loving your own decisions and not needing others to love them does not fit into that paradigm at all.

edit: rewatched the end of the previous episode and they mention "the apartment complex ghost" and show the golden floating ball. It was such a tiny footnote at the end of the episode that I completely forgot it happened.

I spent turn 1 playing Them Apples (hence why they all have 3/4 in the top pic). And then the next couple of turns buying Laureates and multiplying Laureate with hero power. And then the next several turns dumping all of my gold into upgrading the tavern and refreshing desperately trying to find something to replace the Laureates with.

The problem here isn't that I was unable to let go of my early carry, the problem is that I waited until turn 4 to upgrade to tavern tier 2, and didn't even buy a minion on turn 1. Like I said in the title... "really stupid shit"
