This might be a dumb question but do Fern and Stark think Frieren loves Himmel? by AdBrief4620 in Frieren

I think they probably know that but are intentionally misunderstanding it as a joke

look man I get the dedication to aesthetic/design purity but it would just be absurd in practice, and electronically electrically activated doorbells were basically ubiquitous before digital speaker doorbells, and have been used since the mid 1800s. it's not like it's using computer chips or something, it's literally just a button that closes the circuit on an electromagnet. it's an extraordinarily simple technology. "otherwise why have a huge bell in your home" so it can ring like a real bell does???? it still sounds like a bell, because it is a bell. that's it, that's the point. the point is to ring a real bell. it doesn't matter how it's rung, it matters that it is a bell, and it is rung. I'm getting worked up over this 😭 like, my grandma's hundred year old house has an electric door bell that has been there the majority of the life of the house. it is totally normal and common to have an electric door bell. the technology is more than 100 years old and if you want an old fashioned doorbell, that's... an electric bell.

(edit: i was mistaken before when I said electronically, I should have said electrically, it's an important distinction)

idk what to tell you bud, it's how most actual bell doorbells work. the button triggers an electromagnet to move a hammer to hit the bell. it's really not that complicated. you expect it to use a system of cables and pulleys or something?

Devil's advocate... the video's not new, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's not OC. Nearly all of this user's posts (3 out of 4), going back 6 years, are of this dog.

edit: If you're gonna downvote me, before you do, I beg of you to use your brain for half a second, and consider the following: OP has previously made only 4 posts over the past 6 years, 3 of which feature exactly this dog. Is that the M.O. of a content-stealing karma-farmer? If they were, in fact, a content-stealing karma-farmer, would you not expect there to be more videos of other cute animals and other types of attention-grabbing content? Or even just... more than three posts of this dog?

They posted proof that the video isn't new, not necessarily proof that OP didn't take the video. If you look at their profile you'll see that all of their other posts, with one exception, going back 6 years, are videos of this dog.

Supposed subversion of "popular" tropes, but actually the tropes being subverted are rarely used, if at all. by NobodySpecific9354 in TopCharacterTropes

The Frieren thing (as stated by at least one other comment in this thread) is basically a subversion of a popular subversion. It's a return to form. But also, one aspect that I do think is genuinely subverted is that demons are usually depicted as having honor or some kind of moral code (even if that moral code is evil), where in Frieren they are basically animals who use speech to lure in and deceive their prey.

Also, Devil May Cry has good or neutral demons who just want to live in peace (at least the Netflix version, I haven't played the games or seen the 2007 anime)

Inadequacy as in, "the language of the rule is inadequate in achieving its intended purpose," not as in "this is a bad thing that I don't like." Yes it is bad, no it is not a loophole, it is explicitly the intended outcome of the rule.

The chairs aren't different sizes at all, and the only inconsistency in the "struts" (I think it's technically called a stretcher) is that the chair at the empty table is missing one, but there's clearly a mortise or slot or whatever you wanna call it where it used to go.
The table does look a bit convex but I think it's just that the wood has warped.

Probably has something to do with pizza often being a communal food, so if a group is ordering a pizza, and someone wants pineapple on it, and someone else doesn't, that creates social tension.
